"I have my reasons... Franklin." Said the Goblin King as he pushed off the inner labyrinth wall. My name slipping off his dangerous tongue made my insides go numb.

I can still smell the warm dusty air from the other side of this never-ending cold brick wall. How badly I desire to be anywhere but here. Sarah must be worried sick about my sudden disappearance, maybe calling out to me at this very moment.

"That's not an answer." That is followed by a harsh sniff. I can't seem to stop my miserable crying or the trails of snot trotting down my lips. Both my sweater sleeves are soaked from whipping my eyes and nose clean. Him looking at me like I've ruined his morning certainly isn't helping any.

"Take me back," I demanded, it came out really as a plea. I'm so pathetic I can't even sound sturdy with my speech. How he must be struggling to keep a pitied laugh at bay.

"No, that I cannot do... Franky." His cocky demeanor quickly turned serious that I almost didn't catch the sudden nickname.

"Don't call me that your highness." Maybe this will hurt his pride if the blonde man can sniff out my sarcasm which shouldn't be hard.

"Ahh, please, call me Jareth." The urge to vomit all over the place formed as he took a playful bow.

Silence then starts to linger, giving me time to look around and spot weird plants that have eyeballs. They followed my every move. Gross. Good thing I didn't have anything to eat since I got out of school.

Jareth is just pacing back and forth between the wall while watching me closely. My skin is starting to crawl. I have to surpass a shrug.

"What is the reason that I had to be separated from Sarah, Jareth?" I'm not looking forward to whatever answer he might be preparing to give me.

"Hmm." He didn't say anything, just taps his chin and makes a face. Like he knows the answer but carelessly acts as if he knows nothing of my question.

"Please." My last resort. If only I had the nerve to try and sweet talk him. I'm not that talented for that sort of thing.

A sudden gust of wind blew from behind me, ruffling the king's hair in a precious way. It's horrible that he looks this good but is such an evil being on the inside. I can't imagine how many children he has stolen to build up those goblin ranks from the stories.

"I've got other plans for you." He finally speaks after it seems like years I've been standing awkwardly with streaks of dried tears on my face.

"And what does that even mean?" All this suspense-building is very annoying, to say the least. I just want a straight answer, is that too much to ask for?
