Some months had passed and Mya was still in hiding, keeping low contact with Blitzo and her co-workers. Stolas would come into more of her dreams, which she would ignore him in each time, finding out that it was one of the ways he was using to follow her and get into her head. She continued to drive, feeling safe the farther she drove from the city, traveling through the country.

'He may know where I am, but he wouldn't dare come out to the country,' Mya thought, once she felt she was at a safe distance. "While I'm out here I might as well visit Dad. He is going to flip when he finds out I'm pregnant," she muttered, driving down a familiar road. She continued to drive, gently resting a hand on her baby bump. "Ready to meet your grandpa?" she asked, rubbing her baby bump as she drove down the road. She parked her car in front of an old house and smiled a little, seeing the old pick-up truck parked in the driveway, her father out on the porch, sharpening a machete. She turned off her car and stepped out carefully, her father looking up from the machete.

"Well I'll be damned, is that who I think it is?" he asked, setting the machete down.

"Hey, Dad," Mya said, smiling at him.

"Hey, come on up so I can have a look at you," he said, waving for her to come onto the porch.

"Okay, but promise you won't get angry?" Mya asked.

"Of course I won't get angry, I haven't seen you in nearly 8 damn years," he said. Mya was hesitant at first, but moved from around her car and slowly up the porch, watching her father's face contort into a shocked expression, seeing her baby bump.

"Uh...surprise?" Mya said nervously.

"Well I'll be damned," he said, "My baby's got a bun in the oven."

"Yeah," Mya said.

"When's the due date?" he asked.

"November, don't know the exact day. I was thinking it would be funny if I had them on our birthday," Mya said, earning a chuckle from her father.

"Yeah, three generations born on the same day. That would be great," he said. "So you out here for the Harvest Moon Festival?"

"I actually came out here to see you, since we haven't spoken in person in a while," Mya said.

"I missed you too, hon," he said. "I know you're not one for physical contact, but..."

"Sure, why not," Mya said, hugging her father carefully, who carefully hugged back.

"Too bad you won't be able to participate this year," he said.

"It's fine, I'll try to come around more," Mya said.

"That's good," he said.

"How's the bounty hunting coming along?" Mya asked, gently pulling away from the hug.

"Business is getting better, pays the bills, gets me out of the house," he said.

"Yeah," Mya said. "Has she called?" she asked, referring to her mother.

"Only for money, I tell her to fuck right off," he said. "She's done enough damage when she lived here, you know, you were here."

"Mhm," Mya said.

"You wanna come inside? I have some gumbo on the stove," he asked.

"Yeah, that sounds great, Dad," Mya said, heading inside with her father, who turned off his grinding wheel on the way back inside. They went inside and caught up over some gumbo, occasionally bringing up good memories that they made when Mya was a child.

"Blade?" Moxxie asked, seeing Mya, helping her father take things to his truck.
