A few weeks had passed and Mya was slowly starting to get used to motherhood, though her paranoia was getting a bit worse, especially on days that Stolas was taking Silas. It was a Stolas day, which meant Mya was by herself, which she didn't like. She sat at her desk, still not able to do any physical work for another week.
"Stolas got the kid today?" Blitzo asked.
"Yeah, he wanted to do a baby and me yoga session. It's a private session, so I allowed it," Mya said with a sigh.
"Look on the bright side, you get the day off," Moxxie said, trying to be positive.
"Yeah, but I don't want the day off," Mya said. "I can't do anything on my 'day off'. I still can't work for a week, the only thing I've been able to do today was fill out 3 charts and pump four times in one shift."
"Oh..." Moxxie said, before muttering an apology and heading into the break room.
"Why don't you try having some 'me time' until you have to pick him up?" Blitzo suggested.
"Everything I like to do I can't do, because my doctor said not to do anything physical. If I was able to I would have been back to working by now," Mya said, rubbing her temples. "I have nothing now. I just feel...empty."
"Hm..." Blitzo said. "How about you just get some rest. You'll probably need it for whatever shit Stolas comes back with."
"Yeah, I'll do that," Mya said quietly, getting up to walk over to her office cot. She took off her shoes, pulled off her jacket, and laid down on the cot, falling asleep instantly. With all her worrying, Mya had become physically exhausted and didn't even bother fighting the sleep that welcomed her.
~Some time later~
Stolas walked through a portal leading to the office, Silas strapped to his chest in a baby harness, bundled up in a blanket with his little hat on.
"Oh, you're back," Mya said, in the middle of pumping again.
"Yeah, we got distracted on the way back. I wanted to show Silas my favorite tree," Stolas said. "He may be ready to eat again soon."
"Okay," Mya said, before beginning to make a bottle for Silas.
"How are you feeling?" Stolas asked, walking over to her.
"I'm fine," Mya said in a dismissive sort of way. "I just wish I can start working again soon."
"A workaholic as always," Stolas said, giving a soft chuckle.
"Yeah," Mya said, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. She handed Stolas the bottle, as Silas began to whine. "Just let me go use the bathroom and I'll come get him."
"Oh, take your time," Stolas said, beginning to feed Silas. Mya walked to the bathroom, did her business, and washed her hands, before heading to the break room to make herself a cup of decaf coffee. She walked back with her cup of black coffee and one of the donuts from the box Moxxie brought in, stopping to watch Stolas interacting with Silas. "Next time I see you, I will make sure to bring you something," he said softly, cradling Silas as he gently patted his back to burp him.
'He really loves him,' Mya thought, drinking her cup of decaf coffee. 'I'm in so deep…fuck.' She continued to watch Stolas interact with their son, getting a warm feeling from it, or maybe it was the hot coffee.
"Will you be okay getting home?" Stolas asked, looking over at Mya, still patting Silas's back.
"You ask this every time, Stolas. We'll be fine, I know how to drive home," Mya said, sitting at her desk. "I've been driving since I was 12."
"I thought the legal age was 15," Stolas said.
"Who said I was legally driving? I kill people for a living and you're worried about that?" Mya asked, looking up at him.
"Oh…well…yes?" Stolas said in a more of a confused tone, unsure if how to answer the question.
"Okay," Mya gave a shrug. "How's Octavia by the way?"
"She's doing good…or as good as she can living with her mother and I," Stolas said.
"Do you plan on telling her soon?" Mya asked, eating some of her donut.
"I want to…I'm just afraid that she'll never want to speak to me again," Stolas said.
"Well if she finds out you've been hiding him from her she'll take it the wrong way and she'll never speak to you again. It's best to explain things to her before the news gets out…preferably when your wife isn't around," Mya said, checking the time, just as her boss and coworkers leaped through a portal back into the office. "Welcome back."
"Hey, oh, he's here," Blitzo said awkwardly.
"Yeah, he's dropping Silas off," Mya said. "I was actually getting ready to take the little guy home. It's his nap time and Mama wants to soak her ass in some hot water with bubbles. Doctor gave me the go ahead for it." She began packing up her things, setting out the paperwork she had just finished up just before Stolas had arrived.
"Alright, go ahead and clock out. Same time tomorrow?" Blitzo asked.
"Yeah," Mya said, cleaning up her station, after finishing off her donut and coffee. She continued to clean up, throwing away trash, before picking up her bag and Silas's diaper bag, before walking over to the computer to clock out. She washed her hands in the break room, before walking over to Stolas to collect their baby. "Alright, say your goodbyes, the sooner we get in the car the sooner he'll fall asleep." Stolas nodded and cradled Silas, before gently kissing his hat.
"Goodbye, Silas, I will see you soon. Daddy loves you," Stolas said, before carefully handing Silas to Mya. Silas moved a little from being handed from parent to parent, before snuggling into Mya, as he had with Stolas. Mya cradled Silas, before carefully putting him into his car seat.
"You good carrying him out?" Blitzo asked.
"It'd probably be best to get some help," Mya said. Blitzo nodded and carefully grabbed Silas's car seat to carry, while Mya finished up with their bags. "See you guys," she called, heading to the door with Blitzo.
"Bye, Dumplin'! Bye baby Dumplin'!" Millie called, in the middle of cleaning her blood covered battle ax.
"Drive safely," Moxxie called.
"We'll be fine," Mya reassured, heading out of the building. Mya and Blitzo walked to Mya's car, Mya pulling out her keys as they got closer. She unlocked the door and opened the back doors, putting the bags in, as Blitzo buckled Silas's car seat in. Mya closed her door and walked over to Blitzo to check on how he buckled Silas in. "Looks like shit, but you are improving," she said, before handing him a piece of paper.
"What's this?" Blitzo asked, taking the slip of paper.
"My address. In case of emergencies," Mya said. "If something happens to me, take Silas to my dad's."
"You're just being paranoid, Nello. You'll be fine," Blitzo said.
"Maybe, but it's better for me to be safe than sorry," Mya said. "Silas needs to be kept safe, if something happens to me I trust that you will keep him safe."
"Alright, Nello," Blitzo said, as Mya fixed Silas's car seat.
"Mya," Mya said, before looking at Blitzo. "My name's Mya."
"Really?" Blitzo asked, looking surprised. "Damn…that's a shitty name."
"I know, but if you tell anyone, I'll fucking kill you," Mya said, closing the car door behind her.
"Got it," Blitzo said. Mya nodded and walked over to the driver's side of her car.
"See you tomorrow, Mr.Blitz," Mya said, getting into the car.
"Yeah, see you," Blitzo said. Mya buckled her seat belt, started her car, and pulled out of the parking lot, honking the horn at Blitzo on her way out.
