I awake in a small, dimly lit room. Phillip is sitting a chair next to me talking to a large man with red hair in a black suit. They seem to be arguing but I don't hear a thing. I close my eyes and think."Where am I?" I wonder, "Should I have trusted Phillip?" I open my eyes. I still hear nothing. I snap and hear nothing but both boys turn to me. The man says something to Phillip. I stand up and ask, "Where are we?" The man responds, his mouth moving but no sound coming out. "What?" I say. Again the man responds. Then it hits me. Have I gone deaf?
I start to cry. Phillip and the man both look extremely confused. I explain everything about the ringing in my ears and how I can't hear them. They nod and exchange worried looks. I finally ask the man his name and he get a piece of paper and spells out Harry. "Harry." I say letting the letters wrap around my tongue. "Harry, can you help me?" I ask him. He thinks about it then motions me to follow him.
We emerge into a room that looks and smells like a mini-hospital. He guides me to a stretcher and waves over a woman with long blonde hair and sea-green eyes. She smiles at me and I give a fake smile back. She says something and I look to Harry. He seems to explain to her that I can't hear. She nods then writes on Harry's piece of paper. It says, "My name is Elizabeth and I am going to fix your ears." I smile. Simple enough right? But that long night was not simple at all as I was put to sleep and had horrible nightmares and the woman fixed my ears.
