Haunted Nightmare

Zinnia's POV

I can't believe I'm meeting with Thane to get some lunch for the invitations of the masquerade. If the mayor is involved in this, it won't be easy to get away with sneaking into certain parts of his place. I know Thane works there but does he know anything suspicious?
He arrived, clearly happy to be meeting me here.

"I knew you couldn't stay away, I was surprised but glad you message me for lunch. How are you doing, Zinnia."

"Lately not so well."

"Oh really? Why is that?"

"Well it's about Isaac and I, turns out the whole marriage between us was a mistake. It was a mistake that happened, things aren't going that well between us."

"Oh really? If I may ask, what happened?"

"Well I guess I didn't want to see it but he's not doing it for me. He's not taking the marriage seriously. I'm doing all the work, he's not making me happy."
I saw a smile, he never did liked Isaac. Wanting me to leave Issac for him. Since he wants me so much, I have to dig deeper, "I'm here to get away from him. I guess I needed someone who understands, like you. Who told me that he wasn't the one." We talked for a little bit until I mentioned the masquerade that's happening in two days, at the mayor's place and if he had some invitations, enough for 6 people, I lied that I'm thinking of ending things with Isaac there, he was ecstatic, agreeing and would get me in along with the others.

"I'll find you there and hope we share a dance, Zinnia. I can give you everything you deserve. I have to go, but see you later, babes." He winked as he left, I pulled out my phone to let the others know.

Zinnia - We're in. Managed go get invite for the party.
Isaac guess what? I still love you, baby.

Isaac - I love you too, Zee. I managed to convinced my boss into letting me go bartend the party with someone.

Imagen - Is it bad that I found a very gorgeous dress for you, Zinnia? Because it's so perfect for you! Yes I know we should take this seriously but... It's a masquerade party, perfect to have fun and investigate!

Tom - My first masquerade party and I can't wait to really party. It sounds really fun!

Danni - Does sound fun, especially taking some photos at the place.

Parker - I still don't think the mayor has anything to do with this and I don't think I should authorized this but if you say it's him, show me proof, Isaac. I'm still a police officer, there's so much I can do for you but if things go south, I will have to arrest someone. Understand what your doing is illegal.

Tom - Damn I forgot your a cop.

Isaac - Same. I really did forget your a cop for a second.

Parker - I'm serious.

Zinnia - We understand, Parker. I believe in Isaac, if he says the stone that Noah is in is there, than we're going there. We got this.

Danni - With Zinnia on this one, Parker.

Tom - Same.

Imogen - Everything will be fine, Parker! Also, Zinnia! Danni! Let's go shopping!

I chuckled with that message from Imogen, but Parker has a point, he's still a police officer, he won't hesitate in arresting anyone, if that person would be either the mayor if he's doing this or Isaac. Or the rest of us. Really hope it goes smoothly or else things will go bad.
I almost went to start the car but I felt lightheaded.
Good thing I got the jeep today, I entered and that's when I was suddenly in a dark place.
