"Okay there is the playground over there." Maki started driving past the playground. "Ah okay, it should be just around that corner--leading to that big office building." Zoe said, looking over to the building showing up in more detail as they turned the corner.
Reality as they knew it faded away as they almost went through a portal. The office building was almost 100 stories tall and it looked brand new. Given the context that the world is in ruins and there is an apocalypse going on...this was definitely a sight to see.
The playground vanished from the background as the group looked around in shock. Kokichi was amazed that this was just hidden behind a playground that was broken and destroyed. Shuichi didn't know what to think...he didn't understand how this building could look so new when everything was falling apart.
"How did this-" Shuichi started before Zoe cut in, "This was created by the leader of the funhouse." She was more monotone, but any of them knew that she must have been panicking on the inside.
"S made this place using advanced technology to hide it away from the rest of the world. Making it a "safe haven" for lost souls in the apocalypse." She scoffed, "More like a hell on earth disguised as that...like a wolf in sheep's clothing."
Kokichi shuddered a bit, "Damn...this mission." He whispered to himself before Shuichi seemed to share the same concerned expression. "Is going to be dangerous." Shuichi finished making the reality of the situation settle in on all of their shoulders.
"Yes, that's why I have some new gear to help with blending in. But we are going to have to go in groups. First there will be Zoe who will be coming with me and then Shuichi and Kokichi will be in their own group." Maki was finding a place to park and cloak the car. It was going to be hard to find a natural spot where the car would fit as it was more beat up and bloodied to fit the setting of the outside world.
She ended up deciding that just turning on the cloaking device would be better for hiding the car. "Okay, now make sure you have your gear on. Turn your wristband setting to two." She held up two fingers to indicate that she meant the number. They all nodded and did so.
When they changed the wristband setting from 1 to 2 their body suits changed to an almost translucent material that blended in well with the car or even anything that they stood in front of.
"Wow, I didn't know this setting could turn us invisible," Kokichi said smiling at this newfound knowledge.
"Not invisible, just to blend into the things around you." Maki clarified while Kokichi just laughed softly.
"Okay." Maki said in a more serious tone indicating that she was going to say something important. The others turned to her and she looked over to the building.
"There are 110 stories in this building. People are almost on every floor, but it seems that there are just workers on the floors above floor 40. So to get all the victims out we need to go up all the 40 first floors and make sure to avoid the workers." She pulled up a map with her wristband on her right wrist.
"The map shows the floors and the dots are the people on the floors. Red dots are what are seen as workers, and then there are the blue dots for neutral people- or victims in other words." She paused for a moment before turning to Shuichi and Kokichi.
"So both of you are going to take the upper 20 floors and me and Zoe will take the first 20." Kokichi looked at her confused. "How are we going to get to the top 20 floors without going through the first 20 floors?" He asked.
"Well luckily for us there is an elevator in the back that they don't use anymore." Zoe said. "That was how I ended up getting out of the funhouse. They use the nicer elevator inside so the older one in the back was forgotten about." She said moving over to Maki to show them where she was talking about on the map.
"It's easier to get to higher floors, but not easier to get through them. So make sure you are careful and get the victims out, make sure to be nice about it and gentle with them...they have been through hell so I don't know how they will react to two random strangers trying to help them..." She whispered looking to the side.
"We should be just fine!" Kokichi exclaimed in a whisper. "Just trust us, we can take care of the top 20 floors while you and Maki do the first 20 floors." She smiled at that. She seemed like she wanted to thank Kokichi, but ended up just looking back at the building.
"Are you all ready for this?" Maki asked all of them before they all gave her a nod. Some were more confident than others. But they all had the same goal. To get the job done quickly and quietly.

Kokichi and Shuichi ended up walking to the back after putting their mask and glasses on so they would be able to be fully disguised. Kokichi was taking the lead as he always does. Shuichi followed close behind making sure he didn't accidentally trip on anything.
"Shuichi, this is the elevator...but it seems like maybe there are some more guards over here..." He whispered. Shuichi looked over at the elevator noticing that he was right.
There wasn't just two guards. There were about five guards around the elevator. Which honestly was just a board of wood on the bottom with a rope connected to the highest floor. There were two ropes, one for pulling them up and then another for an emergency drop.
"Okay...we are going to have to come up with a plan...and I think I have an idea." Kokichi said pulling Shuichi to come and hide with him by the wall where they could see the guards and the guards couldn't see them.
