Can we Make It?

Shuichi's POV
I was worried...what happened to Kokichi?! Why is it so dark?! Kichi?! KOKICHI!

"Kokichi!" I gasped as I woke up in a bed with Kokichi sitting in a chair next to me. "Good morning my love~!" Kokichi said making me flinch before I pulled him into my arms. I felt tears beginning to pour out of my eyes. I can't do this anymore. Kokichi why did you...wait where are we anyway.

"Let me explain," Rantaro said walking into the room. "Rantaro?! You're alive?" I gasped and my eyes went wide. I saw him get infected...so how is he still alive?

"Yeah, sorry for making you worry...anyway, me, Kaede, and Maki worked together to get you guys here. I was the ones who brought you here technically while Kaede and Maki took care of the situation at your house." Kaede came over and gave me and Kokichi hug. I refused to let Kokichi out of my grip. I don't want to lose him.

"Yeah! I'm so glad I get to see you guys again!" Kaede exclaimed before pulling away from the embrace. "There was a group of people who wanted to hurt you and hold you hostage. So we came to get you guys." Maki said walking in and putting a hand on Rantaro's shoulder.

"So you were the ones who brought those supplies when we needed them?" I asked and Kokichi grabbed my chin. "Yes, my love! Maki has been in this base watching over all of us since this whole thing happened!"

"Yes, also I'm sure you are confused why Kaede and Rantaro are here as well...to give you a brief explanation when I went up into the mountains with Peko this whole thing broke out and we were at the source of it. After a while of experimentation..." She paused and raised her hood making both me and Kokichi gasp. Her face was red and she had symbols coming from her neck to all over the side of her face. One of her eyes was completely red with blood on her cheek going all the way down to her chin. Her other eye was fine but her face had some red marks that looked like she was bleeding close to the top of her head. Her neck had strange symbols on it that traveled up the side of her face to her forehead.

I felt sad just looking at what happened. Knowing that the whole virus caused her to have to endure that...she is very strong but no one should have to go through that...I wish I could have been there and helped her somehow...I wish I could have known...

"We found an antidote that worked." She pulled her hood back on before continuing. "We went to go and try to tell others about it but then we met the group that attacked your house and they wanted to take the antidote for their own selfish needs..." She sighed and held her head in her hands.

"I didn't want you guys to get captured by then because one of the people we were working with got captured by them and what they did to her was horrific...so we had to come and get you guys safe before it was too late." She sighed again before she got up and walked out of the room.

"I have some uniforms for you guys. They are similar to Kaede's and Rantaro's but suited to fit you." She left the room for a moment before coming back with two uniforms in her hands. "Here you go best to get changed we have to go out again to try and get more information on where the group went..." Kokichi grabbed our uniforms before grabbing my hand and pulling me into a back room. "This is what we have to do now...help them save other people...at least we have each other." He mumbled to himself. I could tell he was chiding himself for not being able to save us.

I sighed and wrapped my arms around him as he was zipping up his suit. "Kokichi, I can tell you feel like you let me down...but you haven't you have done anything but that. You have gotten us through so much, and now we get to help other people. I'm glad you are here with my love," I whispered in his ear before planting gentle kisses all over his face, neck, and shoulders. He smiled for a moment before he grabbed my face.

"We should really get ready Shu~," He teased before kissing me on the lips for a quick moment before finishing his zipper before he left the room leaving me to change. I pulled on the uniform and made sure that it fit properly and surprisingly it fit perfectly...how did she do this?

I walked out into the main room to see everyone eating lunch. I took a seat next to Kokichi before Maki brought my food out before placing it in front of me. "You need to eat, you guys were out for a while," Maki whispered before she disappeared into another room again.

"So Rantaro, what do you think about all of this?" I asked making him and Kaede face me. He tilted his head. "I'm just glad that we all get to be reunited again." He said with a half-bow. "Yeah! I'm glad to see that some of our friends are still here with us!" She exclaimed clapping her hands together. Well, Kaede will always be the same...but when she only said some of our friends it reminded me of all the people we have lost. Gonta, Angie, Korekiyo, Kaito...they have all left us...along with some of our other friends...

"Yeah, I'm glad," I whispered letting my arm go around Kokichi's waist. He felt so warm...he feels so safe...I don't want to lose him...god I'm scared...I can't lose him like I lost Kaito...Kaito is a good friend of mine and all...but Kokichi is so much more than that.
