Kaede's POV
We were back in the base. Should I call it that? I mean we do take refuge here while we are trying to keep the antidote a secret. But why do we have to keep it a secret? That's the only thing I can put my finger on...I know it's dangerous because people could try and steal it...but shouldn't we be able to tell our friends that we are still alive. I know Maki has her reasons but I hate having to see Shuichi sad...and I'm sure Kokichi isn't taking this great either...they are really well of though.

I was surprised at how well they stocked their food and were able to find new food and water. Kokichi surprises me all the time with how well he can lead other people. I'm so glad that even after all this time Shuichi and Kokichi are still together. I know Shuichi has some abandonment and trust issues from past relationships and I can tell Kokichi is the same...and this made them so great with each other. I loved talking to Shuichi about his boyfriend because when he talked about Kokichi it made me smile and I could feel the love he had for him and it made my heart feel warm.

"Kaede you should eat something," Rantaro said pushing a plate towards me. I shook my head a few times cutting my thoughts off before I turned to him. "Hey, Rantaro, what do you think about all of this? Like with Maki and the antidote and how we can't tell Shuichi and Kokichi about this place?" I bit my lip when I saw a frown come to his face. Did I offend him? Or does he know something that I don't...

"I think that it would be nice if we could tell them but we should listen to Maki because she does know this place and situation better than either of us do...but I can see why you're concerned about all of this..." He put a hand on my shoulder before gesturing to my food again. I sighed and started eating.

We both had our meals before Maki came back again. "Shuichi and Kokichi were on the path earlier," She walked over to the table and took a seat in front of me and Rantaro. "You mean they could have come here?" I asked feeling a little hope rise in my chest. I can see them again! My friends! We can be together again after all this time!

"Yes, but they left before they made it any closer. Kokichi seems more paranoid about Shuichi's safety which makes sense seeing the situation they are in. But I'm going to keep an eye on them because there is a group coming to this part of town...and they aren't the easiest to deal with." She fiddled with the edge of her hood before pulling a device out of her pocket. "This is a survival pad and I am able to see other life forms near us...this was given to me so I could be prepared if one of the despair groups tried to attack again..." She sighed looking down at the pad with regret. Something bad must have happened...must be something to do with the accident after the attack when the virus broke out...

"It does seem like others are coming...what do they want from you or anyone else? What is their motive?" Rantaro asked putting a hand to his chin. "Well, first off they are trying to end the human population in a gruesome way...they will usually torture their victims...but I need to make sure they don't hurt Kokichi or Shuichi or some of our other comrades." I know she is talking about the other classes. Like Nagito, Chiaki, and Hajime's group. They were farther away from our camp and were trying to find others to join their group when I last saw them...I hope they are doing alright. I also know that Makoto and Kyoko are doing the same for others. It brightens my day knowing there are some people who are trying to help others even in this situation...but there are also others who just want to cause harm and more despair...

"Yeah...what should we do if they are found by them? Do we have a plan?" I asked feeling my hands start to shake. I hate having this stress on my shoulders...I hate having to know my friends could be in danger...and they could possibly be dead... "We are going to have to go in and sabotage them..." She whispered lowering her head. I shuddered at her cold tone...jeez I forgot how cold she can be...

"Here you guys go...I made you guys some uniforms so you can be safer if things go to worst..." I smiled at her and grabbed the outfit out of her hands. "Thank you, Maki!" I gave her a brief hug before leaving to the backroom to change.

The uniform was a bodysuit that was grey and black with a pink symbol on the arm. Rantaro had a similar suit but a green symbol instead. It had a knife holder and a gun holder on the belt around the waist. There were also holders in the back for a bat or a sword of some sort. "She really went all out," I whispered as I walked back over to them.

"Do they fit? I want to make sure they aren't uncomfortable," Maki asked walking over to us. "Yeah, they fit, thank you Maki" Rantaro whispered checking out the holsters and the other gear. "Yeah, Kirumi helped me make them for you she is working in another unit," I smiled at hearing Kirumi's name.

"Kirumi's here too?" I asked feeling my mouth gape. "Yeah, she and Peko and Fuyuhiko are all working to save others and heal anyone who is infected." "They are alive," I smiled and felt some tears come down my cheeks. Maki hesitantly walked over and pulled me into a hug petting my hair with her gloves hand. "We are going to save everyone,"

-Thursday update! Days just seem to be getting longer...I'm always exhausted because my 'friends' are giving me headaches because I worry I did something wrong...well anyway. Thank you all so much for reading!!-
