"What do you mean 'he needs our help'?" I asked moving Shuichi's hand over to rest on my thigh. He flinched at the action, probably because he was already shaking knowing we have to go and find Fuyuhiko...
"Peko updated me on what happened and it doesn't sound like they will be able to get out of this one without any outside help..." Maki said, already collecting her gear. I guess we should get ready as well shouldn't we? I went to stand up before Kaede started talking.
"Because Kokichi has had a recent injury he can drive," She said. Drive? What does she mean by drive?
"Kaede? What do you mean by drive?" Shuichi asked, finally speaking up for the first time after this whole thing started.
"We have a vehicle that Kirumi and Kazuichi built together. So, you and him can stay in the vehicle while the rest of us get them back to the car," She said with a smile. So, I get to drive? Maybe Shuichi should drive though...I trust his driving better than mine everyday. I mean not that there is anyone that's going to give me a ticket for breaking the traffic laws or anything...
"Do you want to drive? Because I can if you want to just use the gun that should be on the side," Shuichi said, pulling out his communication device to pull up a model of the car. There were two side turrets, one on the passenger's seat and one on the back. The car was a black and camo one so it wouldn't stick out too much.
"I think I'll take the turret," I said thinking to myself. I can't see Shuichi using a turret. Sure I have seen him use small pistols for his job, but I just can't see him using a turret gun on the side of a car.
"Alright," Shuichi said with a light laugh. I think the laugh was more out of fear...but I let it slide. This is definitely going to be a dangerous mission.
"We are going to leave in 10 minutes," Maki said before we all left to gear up. Me and Shuichi went to our room and both got dressed up in our uniforms before getting all our weapons and ammo situated. Shuichi was still shaking a bit and it made me frown.
"It's ok Shu, it's going to be ok," I whispered wrapping my arms around his waist. I nuzzled my face into his back where there wasn't a gun or knife holster in the way. His hands were shaking as he moved them over my arms.
We stayed like that for a moment while he calmed down. His shaking stopped and he faced me with a brave look in his eyes.
"We can do this," He said before Maki called us all back into the main room. I put my helmet on before me and Shuichi made our way out to the tunnels.
The car was already sitting there and Shuichi took the drivers seat while we all filled up the car. Shuichi looked serious as he usually would when he was driving or focusing on something. I hate having to see him make that look all of the time, but it's better than pain or something else...so I can't complain.
"Ready! They are going to be through this tunnel, we will be driving for about half an hour or so," Shuichi yelled back to the other passengers. They all nodded and he started driving. The whole ride reminded me of when I would go out with DICE and mess around with people...only this time it was real, lives were at stake and lives have been lost...
I choked on a groan before holding onto the trigger of the turret. Is this going to be enough to hold them off so we can get Fuyuhiko and Peko back? I mean they weren't staying with us before or anything...they are just one of us and we need to stick together. Right? Or could this be a mistake...
What if, they are both getting manipulated? What if, this whole thing is just a way for the terrorist group to pinpoint our location. "It's ok Kokichi," Shuichi said with a smile.
"We are going to get them together and we are going to come back together ok?" He said looking at me for a moment before looking back at the road. I smiled a bit and let the worry slide for now.
"Ok, I love you more than anything you know that," I said gently brushing my hand against the back of his neck. He gently moved his neck into my hand.
"I know that love," He said with a small blush. It was super dark in the tunnel but I could still see his facial expression because of the night vision I have from wearing my helmet. I didn't like having to wear all this gear because I couldn't just hug or go over and cuddle Shuichi, but other than that it's nice to have all of this on because it makes me feel stronger in a way.
. . .
We all looked at the gate door in front of us. It was huge and definitely made to keep people out. Maki got out of the car and typed in the password before the gate opened in front of us. This is it, we have to go and get them out of there...and I'm sure something bad will happen as usual, but at least me and Shuichi get to stay alone behind the doors for tech support and such.
They all got out of the car and walked out the door. Maki transported me the password for the door so I could type it in to let them back in after it closed. But in the meantime we had to open hatches and shoot out of them to try to help in some way, bombs and smoke bombs work well as well, so if they need backup I'm ready with Shuichi.
-Today was another day! But it wasn't a great one yet again but that's alright, probably! Anyway, thank you all so much for reading!!-
