Chapter Thirty - one

January 2nd (still)

"Guys, cheer up, you still have me" Ranboo said cheerfully "Not for long" I replied "But still, You guys went long distance for years, you can do it a little more, and you can always visit" Ranboo was right, and we probably should try to lighten up "True" George said, letting the car fall silent as we headed to Tobys. The occasional hum coming out of ranboo savouring his time with the aux.

Around an hour later we had arrived at Tobys. I was first out of the car, driving was great but got uncomfortable sometimes. I needed to stretch my legs

"So, Tommy. What's the first vlog?" George pondered "There isn't an idea, we're just going to go out tomorrow to film whatever..a day in the life of.." he laughed picturing the title, which was probably going to be his literal title.

But the video sounded fun, nonetheless. "This will be fun" ranboo nudged my arm.

Tommy took it upon himself to start streaming, I had my laptop that George was playing on the dreamsmp with Tommy, Toby and Jack.

While me and ranboo were obnoxiously sending each other really bad memes then laughing out of nowhere, as it seemed to everyone else.

Idk? Whatever they have.

I nodded at him from across the room, and both of us stood up to grab our shoes. Mine of course being the scruffy vans.

The cold air hit us both like a ton of bricks, it was oddly refreshing. Reminding us both that Christmas had just passed.

"Should we do a cooking stream? To pass the time?" Ranboo suggested, hands in his pockets looking down on me.

"Yeah, could be fun, Ohh can we get like millions of toppings" I looked up at him smiling. He sighed before nodding letting us fall back into a calming silence.

I took a moment to look around, the sky was a darker grey, suggesting rain? Maybe. Wouldn't be surprising considering Britain's bi-polar weather.

Ranboo kicked along a stone, leaving it as we entered the nearest shop.

"Grab a basket" I told him skipping off to find the baking and toppings section.

They only had a small selection of chocolate sprinkles, little gold balls, rainbow sprinkles, smarties and little fondant carrots. They were cute so I bought some, they had no significance to the vanilla cake ranboo had chosen, but they were small carrots. Cute.

Not too long after looking at the small selection of items. I payed liked promised and eventually we were back home. Trying to convince a whining George to give me my pc so I could stream.

"But I'm playinngg on it" He whined like a four year old would if he had been told to get off his ipad.

"George, I wannna stream" I matched his whiny tone taking the laptop from him.

"Fine then, I'll use Tommy's" He groaned jumping up from the sofa to bug Tommy about using his laptop.

"Twenty four year olds am I right?" Ranboo joked sarcastically, gathering the items we would need to make the cake. "You got vanilla  right?" I asked he shook his head and corrected me "White chocolate".

I started steam while we were just about ready, Ranboo had his mask and glasses while i copied all he was doing because in all honesty, I didn't really know what I was doing.

"Chat, what's he holding? What is it" I whispered to the camera, trying to make fun of the whole 'PAN' meme he created a while back during his own cooking stream.

"Y/n are you going to help? Here take this let's see you cook" He put the bowl of mixed batter in my hands leaving me. "So we, we put this here" I poured the batter in to two of the round cake tins that ranboo had discovered in Tubbos cupboards.

"Oven?" I asked the chat and they all dramatic told me to put it somewhere cold instead, but I wasn't that stupid. "YOU KNOW YOU CAN READ THE BACK OF THE BOX" Ranboo shouted informing me of where he was getting the instructions and that he wasn't the next Paul Hollywood, just a fake.

After that the stream went smoothly, I didn't set anything on fire surprisingly and the cake covered in every topping I had was good. Once the thick layer of icing was replaced for a thinner layer.

"So, Wait Tommy why aren't you driving yet?" I asked over the island fiddling with my slice of cake "Because, fucking what? Why would I do that I have Jack" He excused but I think we both knew his mum doesn't trust him with the car.

"But tomorrow'll be fun, you'n Gogy will stop being so sad" He scoffed. "Thanks for the reminder dickhead"

The silence became loud, until my phone started ringing. "Hey" His familiar, soothing voice hummed, obviously tired. "Hey," i squeaked "Didn't get any sleep on the plane?" I asked, which he shook his head too. "Clay snores loudly" He laughed, moving things on the other side of the call. "Well I'm about to head to sleep, and you're coming with me" He smiled on the other end of the call, letting his camera face the roof as he changed into comfortable clothing.

I did the same heading to Tobys guest room to get changed.

"Look, it's just like how it was yesterday" I said propping my phone up making it look like his head was on the pillow. Im assuming he was doing the same because of the angle I was faced at.

We didn't go to sleep straight away, we talked for a bit. Just about nothing, or everything. At this rate his voice was sending me to my happy place.

11:23pm

"Hey, Y/n?" I could hear him whisper, lights were out so I couldn't see him and he couldn't see me. "Mmhm?" I hummed "I love you" My face went red, as I replied telling him the same.

Letting my eyes close, and fall asleep.

It was now that she cherished moments like this. Moments without worrying about her friends, and families safety.

As long as she did what he asked, they should be ok. Hopefully.

Having not seeing them was taking a toll on her, definitely. But at least they were safe.
