'You're starting to get on my nerves.'

Evenings were by far Lilac's favourite time of day, the evening sun always seemed the most beautiful, the way the colour of the sky changed as it began to settle and cast long shadows along the ground, it was the time of day she was allowed to relax, finally take a break from the world. She had no school in the evening and the monsters seemed to hide in the darkness, evening was simply a time she truly felt the weight of the world fall from the place on her shoulders. But she also loved the night, she loved to be awake in the hours everybody else wasted with sleep, she loved to stare at the moon that shone brightly in the sky and the blanket of stars that stretched to infinity, as a kid she dreamed of being flown into space, to touch the stars and walk on the moon but now she was older, her biggest hope seemed to be making it through the day.

It was kind of sad really, that the hopes and dreams she once found herself fawning over were now simply dreams of the past, simply forgotten memories. But she still dreamt, there were things she wished to have and people she wanted to experience things with but the imaginative side of all of those thoughts was simply non existent. Lilac was like many other teenage girls, she worried about her appearance in the mirror and was always conscious of what she ate, the only difference between her and the other girls her age was simply that they didn't know the whole truth of the world around them. But Lilac did, she saw the horrors that lurked in the darkness and the monsters that killed with no mercy, to others her life would seem a dream but to her it was a nightmare she felt she couldn't wake up from.

But everything felt like it had changed, with the past two days her life had been different, she felt aware of everything around her, like she had been reborn. Her body was seemingly surging with power and it made her senses all the more heightened, her nose would pick up on the slightest emotion and her stomach seemed to be at a constant craving for human blood but the thing she found herself liking the most was the way everything felt more real. Everything she touched sent a shiver down her spine and made her hands shake with power, it felt like she was running on adrenaline, like she was high on life. She didn't care about what anybody thought and it was exhilarating.

It had been a long time since Lilac was turned, since she died and in all of that time she had never felt like this. She had never not cared about the feeding or the possibility of hurting innocent people, but Lilac without her humanity was a force to be reckoned with, a being more powerful than anybody could imagine. And the nogitsune that continued to inhabit her was finding out very quickly just how much being a vampire tied a person away from humanity. The fox inside of her was a being that enjoyed the pain and the chaos, it got off on watching people suffer but each time he watched the emotionless girl drop another body, he began to feel more annoyed. It was as he stood in her boyfriends body, his foot tapping impatiently on the ground his anger began to surge, it was as he smelt the blood that was dripping from her mouth and past her chin that he had the urge to scream, it was as he watched another body drop lifeless to the ground he had finally had enough.
