Lilac Collins had always been a firm believer that people never really change, that a once evil person would always be evil, that it was in their nature to never change or be anything other than evil, that they could never truly be good, that a soul that has conceived darkness can nurse no good thereafter, it was a saying she always thought about when it came to betrayal in her life, it was the reason she didn't like to give second chances or give people the benefit of the doubt because it was like reading the same book and expecting a different ending. But she also knew that evil only had power over her if she let it. It was now she was free of the things holding her down that evil seemed non existent in her life, that she chose not to look on the negative side of her days and look at the glass as being half empty, there was a spark back inside of her, the darkness in her heart felt as if it was fading.

But it was over the last few months she found many things she believed in to not be true, that she herself had broken her idea of never changing the person you are, the past few months had been a new start for her, a breath of fresh air and she would have been lying if she said she wasn't the happiest she had been in a long while, she was finally over the bad stages of grief since Allison had died, she was alive and she had a boy by her side that she loved more than anything, nothing supernatural had happened in a while and for the first time in so long everything felt right, all her problems could be solved with a single kiss and her eyes had remained dry, she finally felt as if she was getting to the life she had truly wished to have and although she didn't have some of the people she imagined her future with, she knew they were there, watching over her and happy to see her happy, she knew she deserved this, after being so down for so long, she needed change, she needed to finally move on and she had, she was happy to live in the moment and that was exactly what she was doing.

Because it was from the very moment Scott McCall was bitten in the woods that her life had changed, that her already miserable days turned worse, that for the last few years the supernatural had taken over every aspect of her life and she had become something that was once only a bedtime story, but it was now that everything seemed quiet she had truly began to accept herself, what she was, she had began to make terms with her supernatural side, she didn't hate what she saw when she looked in the mirror, she smiled more than she ever had, she felt more connected to those she loved, it seemed that the grief they shared had only brought them closer. But something was different, something between her and Stiles, something unspoken but still there, yes they were still unequivocally in love with each other, but there was a lingering tension that both of them had been choosing to ignore, words that had been left unsaid, they had not spoken about what happened that night since that car ride, they had not mentioned the fact she had burned down her house, they had not talked about the emotions they felt that day, in fact it seemed they hadn't done much talking about things like that these days, instead most of their time had been spent on other activities, ones that didn't involve a lot of talking but they also spent as much time together as possible, they laughed at the dinner table together, they slept in the same bed most nights, they still had those little fireworks explode in their stomach every time their lips collided, but still something was different.
