"Can I go in?"

"Yes just be careful his stomach is bandaged." I nodded and Todd opened the door for me. I slid into the dark room and stared at his unmoving form. It scares the shit outta me seeing him on the bed.

"Gale?" He sat up swiftly trying to ignore the pain in his abdomen.

"Lay down." I walked over to him.

"Are you okay? Hurt, anything wrong? I'll kick his ass."

"Darius I'm fine lay down." He sat up further and tried to get his feet over the bed. "It you don't lay down I'm leaving." I threatened.

"Don't play this game." He warned. I backed up and put a hand on the knob.

"Try me." It was a challenge. He moved to his feet and I opened the door and walked out closing it behind me. I told him I wasn't joking. "Hey Oliver need help with that?" I asked as he walked down the hallway holding a blanket awkwardly.

"I think I got it." He stopped in front of me and the crying drew my attention.

"Is that? What the hell did you two do in the three days you weren't here?!"

"We went out of town to adopt him." He said giving me a smile.

"What's his name?" I stroked his head.

"Joseph," I raised my eyebrows surprised. "Tate chose it." He threw up his free hand making me laugh and shocks wen through my body.

"Go lay down." I huffed turning around and he pressed his lips on mine roughly. "Darius stop!" I pushed him away and hurt and sorrow filled his eyes. "Go lay down." I whispered and sprinted towards the hospital exit.

When I got back to the house I was surprised to see Darius's parents sitting in the living room watching the boys. "Hi." I waved awkwardly.

"Gale I have something to show you." Michael stood up and I gave Diane a questioning look and she nodded with a smile.

"Okay." I followed him out the house and he led me to a house in the village and knocked on the front door.

"Who is it?"

"Alpha Mike." He answers and the door immediately opened a frail middle aged man standing in the doorway.

"Isn't this the new Luna she pointed a thumb at me." I nodded not understanding the point of this.

"Can we come in?" Michael asked motioning inside. The man nodded and moved to the side.

"Louise we have company."

"I'm in the living room dear." We walked into the living room and it felt like the room stopped the moment my eyes met the woman's. "Gale?"

"I still don't know why I'm here Michael." I gave him my attention.

"These are your biological parents Gale." I shook my head and backed away from my father.

"So it was him." I pointed to the man. "You are so going to die." I smirked. "For putting your hands on me. For abandoning me. For not claiming me. You are so going to die." I shook my head a devilish grin on my face.

"Dawson what is she ranting on about?" My "mother" raised an eyebrow. "I thought you said she was killed by rogues."

"No his ass dropped me in the woods to be killed by rogues." I stomped to the door. "Watch your back." I tossed over my shoulder and walked out.

I sat still staring at Darius who tossed again before groaning in pain. I laid my head in the palm of my hand and sighed. Why me? Why couldn't this all just be someone else's life? I stared out the window. I wonder what the boys are doing.

"Hey." Darius's voice was scratchy pricing he was sleep.

"Lay down!" I stood up quick and walked over to his bedside. "You're on bedrest and it's time to change your bandages."

"Will you quit worrying so much?" He groaned obviously irritated.

"Sorry for caring." I said sarcastically and sat back down.

"Babe it wasn't supposed to come out like that I swear."

"Mmhhmm." I nodded not really listening.

"Gale-"

"I'm going back to the house." I stood up and walked out the room and to the house in the dark. I walked up the steps and checked on all the boys before changing and falling asleep on the plush couch in the master bedroom.

I was the one that didn't want the pity, I shouldn't expect him o give me some now.
