"Darius?" I felt around his side feeling nothing but cotton and duvet. "Ugh" I drew the one syllable word out walking into his office where he sat behind his desk. "Darius?" I pulled the blanket up around my shoulders
"Afternoon." He smiled. I shook my head and sat on the couch.
"I asked you to stop leaving me in bed alone." I huffed staring at my stomach.
"I know but I couldn't stay by your side all day. I have work." He sighed from behind his desk.
"What time did you leave?"
"Uhh?"
"What time Darius?"
"Five thirty." He whispered.
"What?" I looked at him knotting my eyebrows together.
"Five thirty. I left the bed at five thirty. In my defense it was important."
"What time is it Darius?"
"Four thirty okay. I get it stop riding my ass and go eat!" He yelled and my mucus got caught in my throat. I stood up and nodded.
"I'm sorry okay." I choked getting out those words as I walked towards the door slowly.
"Baby I'm sorry." He pushed back his seat and crossed the room wrapping me in the safety of his arms. "I'm sorry." He whispered again. His grip on me tightened and he dropped his head down to the crook of my neck. "I'm sorry." He apologized again. I felt tears stain my cheeks and he rubbed my back soothingly. "Look at me." He grabbed my chin.
I shook my head and forced it back down. "Gale look at me!" He begged. He sounded vulnerable. I looked up at him and he wiped my face. These hormones. "I'm sorry." He kissed my forehead holding my cheeks with a warm firm hand. I stared at his silver orbs. "Go put on something nice I have a surprise for you."

"I really hate dresses Holly." I groaned. She skimmed through my closet.
"Well it's a bad thing your not showing yet Huh?" She laughed in my face. She pulled out a skimpy pink dress and I shook my head ferociously. "Then you pick one out." She threw the dress up in the air and pushed out the way.
My fingers skimmed over all the different materials until stopping on a burgundy and black dress with poka-dots. I pulled it or with a smiled and turned to show Holly. "I can work with that." She nodded. "Time for makeup." I shook my head.
"I hate Makeup more that I hate dresses."
"I'm going to make it look natural." She promised. "Please. I don't have a daughter to do this on I've never met my mate." She begged again.
"Fine but if I don't like it in taking it off." I crossed my arms and she pushed me into a seat. "And no foundation."
"Got it."
~
"Gooooooo." She pushed me out the room. I stumbled out and down the steps where Darius was waiting. He stood up fast and his jaw was slack.
"Hi." I stood awkwardly looking at him in his black polo shirt and dark wash jeans.
"You look amazing." He took a step forward and kissed my forehead. "I think you'd look even better without anything on though." He smirked and wrapped an arm around my waist. "Now c'mon." He pulled me into the car and we drove for what felt like an hour before stopping at a restaurant.
I unbuckled and he opened my door and grabbed my hand leading me into the building. "Reservation for Smith."
"Of course." He nodded and escorted us out to the courtyard full of flowers. "What can I get you to drink sir?"
"A sweet tea for me."
"Same." I nodded. He bobbed his head and walked off. "Thought of any names?"
"Sarah?"
"I told you we aren't having a girl." I shook my head.
"You don't know that."
"If it is a girl you get to name the baby. If it's a boy I get to name it."
"Deal." He smirked. The waiter came back with our drinks and we ordered our food. We continued talking about nothing for awhile like weather, and the boys. "Okay now I have a surprise." He stood up placing his napkin on his finished plate. He grabbed my hand and hoisted me up.
I followed him to the main garden and squatted in front of the azaleas. I stood and turned up and gasped when I saw Darius on one knee. "I know this is kinda sudden with us finally getting along and all. But I wanted to know if you would marry me?" I nodded my head slowly. He opened the velvet box and I gazed in awe at the small heart shaped rock on the plain band. He slipped it on my ring finger and kissed me passionately.
"Thank you." I breathed out in between the heated moment. He didn't even let out an acknowledged murmur before he pressed his lips back on mine.
~
We got back out the truck holding hands. "She said yes!" He held up our intertwined fingers and howls erupted all around us. People and wolves rushed out to see us.
"Darius-"
"We'll sleep in a bit." He kissed my cheek. "We'll have a meeting tomorrow. Your Luna is tired." He waved them off and helped me through the crowd hands securely on my stomach.
I took a brisk shower scrubbing the crap off my face before climbing into a pair of Darius's boxers and a tank top. I climbed in bed falling asleep before Darius's form got back in his arms draped around me and pulled me close to him.
I can't believe I'm marrying him. I can't believe I'm marrying Darius Smith.
