Darius' P.O.V
"Alpha may I talk with you?" I nodded and the pack doctor Todd escorted me out of the room.
"What's wrong with her?" I need to know.
"Well we took all the variables into account. Her unresponsive body, uncontrollable nervous system, her vitals-"
"I get it what's wrong with my mate?" I barked, he's so used to the possessiveness on account to the males he faces daily he didn't even flinch.
"Alpha I'm going to need you to calm yourself." I nodded taking in several deep breaths. "Luna Cameron is in a coma; Alpha."
And that my friends is how depression took over . . .
~
It's been three months, two days, five hours, thirteen minutes, and ten seconds and I'm still counting.
I stared at her peaceful body laying there. My hard headed mate looked like the angel I saw her as. Her wavy brown hair outlined her softly squared jaw.
I trailed my eyes up her beautifully tanned unique face. Even unconscious she holds so much color.
Her plump slightly pink lips. The small scar that starts over her eyebrow and ends on the bottom of it. Her recently closed chocolatey eyes that always held a sparkle of mischief.
It was all gone.
I gripped tighter onto her small hand that looked so fragile at the moment. What would she think when she woke up? What if she didn't-
'No, you and I both know she'll wake up. Don't underestimate her.'
'I know, but-'
'Did you forget the day we first met?'
'No-'
'Tell me, why was she running?'
'Because she had-'
'She what?!'
'Killed a man!' I wailed at my wolf. 'She killed a man . . .'
'Exactly. She can handle herself, trust me.' And just as fast as he'd come he was gone. I slumped back into the hospital chair. I gently rubbed my thumb in circles causing the addictive sparks and tingles to appear again on my skin.
I sunk further into the seat when my Beta: Logan walked in the room. "Dude you look like shit." He chuckled lightly. I didn't find this amusing and stared at him with a blank glare. "You need to go straighten yourself up. I don't think my Luna would like to wake up to a mate in this condition." I growled at the mention of my mate.
"Easy for you to say yours isn't laying on her death bed!"
"Darius I think it's time for you to take a relaxing shower. C'mon." He grabbed my bicep hoisting me up with him and pulling me through the dimly lit hallways.
We walked through the pack until arriving at my small cottage, Logan shoved his key in the keyhole and opened the door pushing me in with him. "Go take a shower, shave, take care of you manuals. I'll be out here." I nodded and walked into the bathroom.
I came out in thirty minutes fully dressed with a black v neck, cuffed jeans, and black vans.
"Now was that so hard?" Logan mocked as I walked into the living room. He put down the cell phone that must've been preoccupying his time.
I ignored his lousy comment and walked out the front door heading back to the hospital.
I walked through the front door of the hospital and everything was in chaos. I heard one word that had me on my toes and rushing up the stair case. "Luna."
I pushed through the narrow doorway and stopped dead in my tracks and a smile crept onto my face.
She's awake.
She was taking out the needles that were feeding her liquids. She was giving it her full attention. "You're awake." I smiled at her and she returned a frown. "Give us a minute." I said shooing the doctors and nurses out of the room. "Hey baby I've missed you so much."
She shook her head and me and turned to face the wall laying in her side. "Are you going to talk to me?"
She didn't move a muscle. I put a hand on her shoulder and she scooted farther away from me. A defeated sigh escaped my lips. "Can you write down why you're not talking to me, please?" I asked trying my best to stay calm.
I handed her a piece of paper and a pen that was laying around from one of the nurses. And what she wrote killed me.
'You left me.'
