~THIRD PERSON P.O.V
Eight hours until dawn...
Upstairs, Josh, Chris, Ashley, Charlie, and Seán were setting up the spirit board. Chris, with Charlie sitting down next to him, read out the instructions. Ashley and Seán stood nearby as Josh lit some candles around them.
"So it says here: 'To communicate with the spirit world, you must free your mind-'" "Bang!" Seán cut Charlie off, causing everyone to look at him. "What? Have you not seen vine? The one with Morpheus from The Matrix before it cuts to a guy jumping and slamming into a giant garbage can... You know what, never mind," Seán shooked his head.
Charlie shook her head, amused. "As I was saying: 'To communicate with the spirit world, you must free your mind of all preconceptions, drop all inhibitions, and generally give yourself over entirely to the will of others, sublimating your very desire to the whims of the Spirit-master,'" Charlie readout as Seán sat down next to Charlie, Josh sat on the other side of Seán, and Ashley sat in between Josh and Chris.
"Which is me," Chris added, causing Ashley to look at him. "It doesn't say that," Ashley told him. Charlie looked down at the book again. "'And all present will remove the garments-'" "At my sole discretion-"Chris cut Charlie off. "Chris, come on, this is serious-" "Can people stop interrupting me?" Charlie interrupted Chris but he chuckled.
"Oh, I'm deadly serious," Chris said in a southern accent, which made Charlie groan. "Oh, shush you, let's try this," Ashley said, causing Seán to nod in agreement. "Let's do this thing," Seán commented. "Yes please," Josh told them.
"Okay then, let's see what happens," Chris said before they set their hands on the board. Chris looked at Ashley. "Ashley, since you're a recent convert, why don't you be our medium for today?" Chris asked her. She nodded.
"Ok. Um... Anyone there...? Will you reveal yourself to us... If you're there...?" Ashley asked before they set a figure each on the pointer. The pointer started moving. "Wait a minute..." Chris started saying. "That's fuckin' cool," Seán commented, not believing this. "Did you do that...?" Josh asked her. "Ashley?" Charlie asked her, curious.
"I didn't do anything!"
"It's moving again!"
The pointer moved to H.
"'H'" Ashley said. "What's its spelling?" Josh asked. "Hold on," Charlie said. "How's this happening?" Seán commented, slightly weirded out.

"Are you moving it...?" Josh asked her. "I swear it's just moving," Ashley told him.
The pointer landed on P.
"Holy shit," Josh muttered. "'Help?'" Ashley echoed. "How are we supposed to help?" Chris asked. Ashley shrugged. "I don't know. What does it mean?" Ashley asked them. "We need to know who it is if we're supposed to help them," Charlie told her. "How can we 'help' you...?" Ashley asked before the pointer started to move again.
"It's moving again," Chris commented. "Whoa," Josh muttered. "What's it spelling?" Seán and Charlie questioned in unison. "'War...?'" Josh said as the pointer moved. "It's moving fast," Ashley told them.

"'Warni...'" Seán muttered. "Shit," Josh cursed. "Oh my God... 'Warning'?" Ashley said as she looked at the other four. "I think... We... Uh... Really need to find out who's trying to communicate with us," Chris told Ashley.
"What are you warning us about?" Ashley asked before the pointer moved slightly. "Whoa..." Charlie muttered. "Ooh, here it goes," Ashley said before the pointer moved.
