10. Resolution

~THIRD PERSON P.O.V

One hour until dawn...

Sam, Riley, Wolfie, Mike, and Violet walked down the tunnel, heading toward where Josh might be "I was not prepared for how ugly that thing would be up close," Sam commented.

"Ditto... Ditto with that," Riley mumbled in agreement, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Yeah..." Mike muttered.

Violet stopped walking, causing the others to do the same. "So, I noticed something kind of weird about it," Violet started saying, causing Sam and Riley to look at her confused.

"Uh... What?" Sam questioned.

"The Wendigo. It had a scar," Violet said.

Mike snapped his fingers. "Oh yeah! I noticed that, too,"

Wolfle looked up at her curiosity while Sam and Riley exchanged a look. "So?" Riley questioned as he crossed his arms.

"We've seen it before," Mike told them.

"What are you both talking about?" Riley asked.

"We saw these old pictures of some guy with that same scar, one of the miners that got trapped, we're guessing... And he was transforming into a Wendigo," Violet explained.

Sam and Riley looked at the two shocked. "You're kidding," Sam mused.

Mike nodded in agreement. "It was one of the miners who'd been trapped, back in the 50s... In the cave-in,"

Riley raised an eyebrow at him. "Yeah... I think we got that,"

Mike scoffed. "Yeah, well... That doesn't matter. What matters is that thing is 80 years old. At least,"

Wolfie rubbed his head against Violet's leg, causing her to smile and comfort him. "Spunky for an old-timer," Sam joked.

They continued walking down the tunnel. "They cleaned the place out... Killed a lot of people," Violet added.

Riley looked at the two with worry etched on his face, stopping in place. "'They?'" he questioned, causing everyone to stop. "Sis... You mean to tell us... That there's more of them?"

Mike nodded. "Oh, yeah,"

"How many?" Riley asked them, afraid to know the answer.

Violet and Mike exchanged a look. "Too many," the two said in unison, walking away from the two, with Wolfie following behind them.

Sam and Riley exchanged a worried look, following the others. "I think we're close. To the lair," Sam stated.

"How can you tell?" Violet asked her.

"I don't know... I just... Feel really terrible all of a sudden," Sam admitted as they walked over to a giant lake.

"Ditto," Mike muttered in agreement.

Riley looked over at the lake. "I really don't wanna go in there..."

"There's no other way through," Mike concluded as Sam spotted a totem.

She kneeled down, picking it up. She saw the lodge on fire, with everyone outside, looking at it.

Sam hummed in thought, setting it down. She stood up but noticed a pathway off to the side.

"Before we go through the water, I think we should check out this way," Sam told them. They exchanged a look before they walked down the path.

They got to a dead-end but they noticed something at the end... A grave. "Guys... Is that what I think it is?" Sam questioned, spotting something on the ground.
