6. Psychosis

~THIRD PERSON P.O.V

Five hours until dawn...

The elk in front of the four stepped closer, causing Joey, Matt, Max, and Emily to take another step back. "Matt...! What are you gonna do? What are you gonna do...!?" Emily asked him. 

"Stay calm... Relax... They're just deer... They just want to check us out is all," Matt reassured her.

"I'm naming them all Dan..." Max whispered to Joey, who looked at her confused. 

"What...?!" Joey asked/whispered to her. 

"No, no, no Matt. They're gonna hurt us-" 

"Shh.." Matt cut Emily off before he and Joey started to walk forward slowly.

The elk moved out of the way as Matt and Joey passed between them. An elk stopped in front of them but Matt didn't attack it with the axe. Max and Emily walked over to them as the elk in front of Matt and Joey stepped out the way.

"Just walk slow. It's okay," Matt told them. 

Joey nodded in agreement. "Come on... It's okay," Joey reassured them as they got to some rocks. 

They climbed over and got down to the ground on the other side. They started walking up the path. "If we do manage to get someone on the radio-" 

"We will, Em," Max reassured, cutting off Emily. 

"The we tell them we need help. What do we do while we wait?" Emily asked them.

"We do my plan. Go back to the lodge, find the others, inform Mike and Jess what's going on, and then hold it out until morning," Joey retold his plan, causing Emily to shake her head.

"Oh god, not the lodge. We should stay here. In case whoever it needs to get back in touch with us?" Emily told him. 

"How about we get that radio working first," Max told her.

"Right... Yeah..." Emily muttered. 

Suddenly, a light shined on their faces, causing them to stop walking. "Ahh! That's freakin' bright!" Emily exclaimed as she covered her eyes. 

"No kidding!" Matt agreed.

"I can't see. What the fuck is that?" Joey questioned. 

"It's a security light. Motion sensor. I've come across them before," Max explained.

"I'm not even gonna ask how you know that..." Matt mumbled.

Emily spotted something on the ground. "Hey. Another totem," Emily said, walking over to it.

"Be careful. The one I saw is still freaking me out," Max warned her just as Emily picked up the totem.

She saw Chris tied down, holding a gun to his head. But he set it down on a table in front of him. The image disappeared and Emily set the totem down, slightly scared. 

"What'd you see?" Joey asked.

"I saw Chris, tied to a chair, but he was holding a gun to his head before setting it down. I don't know why he was holding a gun?!" Emily explained.

"Maybe the Psycho caught them again," Max guessed, rubbing her arm. 

"If that's the case, then we need to hurry. And get back to the lodge to help Chris and Ash," Matt announced before he started to walk up the steps, with the other three following.

They got to a ladder and Matt motioned for Max to go first. "Thanks," she thanked him before she climbed up. 

Emily followed her, Joey waited about ten seconds before following her up.
