"Father, what do you mean a war is near?" Camila asks her father.

"It means that the rival tribe is gearing up and calling their allies," Alejandro says.

"And what are we going to do?" Camila asks.

"You, nothing. The men fight. The men protect the women," Alejandro says.

"But-"

"No buts, Camila. I will not have you get injured. Please, stay out of this war, that is if it comes down to happening," Alejandro says.

"Yes, sir," Camila frowns.

Camila's POV

"Why did you call us in here, Mr. Beckham, Miss Jauregui?" I walk into Mr. Beckham's study.

The boys enter right behind me, Sir Ian closing the door behind him.

"We are sad to announce that war is looming before us," Mr. Beckham speaks.

"What do you mean?" Sir Ian asks.

"The North is quite fed up with the South so war may be declared," Miss Jauregui explains.

"How long do we have?" Sir Zac asks.

"The General of the Union has informed us that we will only have two weeks," Miss Jauregui says.

"Why so early?" I ask.

"They cannot take any more of this slavery so they want to declare as soon as possible but not too soon that they will not be prepared," Mr. Beckham says.

"And what are we going to do?" Sir Trey asks.

"Keep on with our mission. We want to take out as much as the Elite Circle we can so the Union can have some sort of advantage over the Confederacy," Miss Jauregui says.

"Does the General of the Union know about this?" Sir Zac asks.

"Of course. He will be working with us to see if he can pinpoint where the members of the Elite Circle are," Miss Jauregui says.

"Who is next on our list then?" Sir Ian asks.

"The Captain. He is lower ranked than the Major but he still needs to be taken out," Mr. Beckham says.

"We will inform you guys once we have any information to which where he is," Miss Jauregui says.

"You are all dismissed," Mr. Beckham says.

After bowing or curtsying, we exit the study as we make our way to the parlor.

"What do you guys feel about all of this?" Sir Ian asks.

"Hoping the Union obliterates the Confederacy," Sir Zac says.

"I am feeling the same. We will finally be free if they do. All of us, every slave," Sir Trey says.

"Miss Cabello, may I speak to you privately?" Miss Jauregui walks into the parlor.

"Of course, Miss Jauregui," I nod.

I stand up and follow her into her bedroom as she closes the door behind her.

"How are you feeling?" Lauren asks.

"Happy, worried, afraid," I said.

"I am sorry to hear that," Lauren frowns.

"If war will arise, that means my brother will be fighting. He could get hurt. The Union will just see him as another Confederacy soldier," I frown.

"I will pass on his information to the Union so they do not. They know of all the Confederacy soldiers who are in the cause," Lauren says.

"Thank you," I said.

"For what?" Lauren furrows her eyebrows.

"For everything that you have done for me," I said.

"And I will not stop until you have your family back," Lauren says.

"What of yours?" I ask.

Lauren turns away from me as I hear her clear her throat, probably trying not to cry.

"Did I say something wrong?" I frown.

"No. Sir David and I have been investigating and we found my family," Lauren says.

"Should that not be a good thing?" I ask.

"We found them... But they are not alive," Lauren's voice breaks.
