Lauren's POV
"The carriage is ready Miss Jauregui."
Mr. Holland walks into the living room, hands behind his back, as Miss Cabello and I stand up.
"Are the bags loaded?" I ask.
"Yes, ma'am," Mr. Holland nods.
"Perfect. Let us be off then. We are wasting time," I said.
Miss Cabello and I follow Mr. Holland out of the estate and to the carriage as he helps us in before closing the door.
"I do not know why but I feel scared," Camila says.
"Why, my love?" I ask.
"I have this feeling there is more waiting for me at Texas," Camila says.
"Oh. Whatever it is... I'll be there to protect you," I said.
"Thank you," Camila smiles.
"Shall I tell you what will be doing once we arrive?" I suggest.
"Please tell," Camila says.
"Unfortunately, the major fight will not be until the end of the week. Enough time to research more about the Captain. Like whether he will be there alone or not and more about the major fight like who will be in it. The fighters have to be extremely good if it drew the Captain out," I said.
"I thought he already likes going to these fights?" Camila says confused.
"He does. But he is always busy with Elite Circle business so he does not get around to coming to the events much but Cyrus greets him with open arms and makes sure the fights are exquisite when he does," I said.
"You know that feeling I was telling you about?" Camila says.
"Of course," I nod.
"I feel like I know what it is," Camila says.
"I can take a guess but tell me," I said.
"I am part of a tribe. Most importantly I am the Chief's daughter. This tattoo I have... My family and I have it in a way to remind ourselves of each other. I told you the meaning of it at the beginning but... I guess what I am trying to say is that I feel a pull. Either there is a member of my tribe there or it is my father," Camila says.
"I will research for the rest of the week to confirm if your father is there or not," I said.
"Thank you," Camila says.
"You do not need to thank me, my love. I will do anything you ask of me with the utmost pleasure," I said.
"And this is why I love you," Camila says.
"I love you too," I said.
We get as comfortable as the carriage can provide because it will be a long journey to Texas.
One day later...
I hear Mr. Holland holler that we are pulling up to my secret cottage.
Camila who was asleep sits up slowly as she looks around. "Where are we?" She asks.
"At a secret cottage of mine. I have one in each slave state. Just in case," I said.
Camila moves the curtain inside the carriage to the side to peek outside. She turns back to look at me, smiling and biting her lower lip. "Miss Jauregui this cottage is on the very low and quite... Romantic," She says.
"I try to make it as welcoming as possible. It will just be you and I... And Mr. Holland but mainly you and I," I said.
"I cannot wait," Camila smiles.
The carriage door opens and Mr. Holland helps me out and then Miss Cabello.
Mr. Holland busied himself with our luggage as Miss Cabello and I entered the cottage.
"Do you want me to show you around or... Just the bedroom?" I step closer to her.
"Let us save it for tonight. Speaking of, who will be cooking dinner?" Camila asks.
"Well... Me," I smile.
"I mean no offense Lauren but... You know how to cook?" Camila asks.
I laugh as I walk into the kitchen. "I will prove you wrong. I do love challenges," I said.
"Let see then," Camila laughs softly.
