Lauren's POV
I step into Cyrus's office as he stands up from his desk and smiles at me.
"Miss Jauregui, I hope you enjoyed the fights," Cyrus says.
"I did," I said.
"And did you choose who you want to buy?" Cyrus asks.
"I was hoping you could make those picks," I said.
"Well, alright, let me take you down to the cells then," Cyrus says.
Camila's POV
There are two carriages in front of us and just at the front is the Captain's carriage.
"He is turning," Sir Tom says.
"The two carriages are not, which means we will be right behind him," I said.
"He has not noticed us yet but he can," Sir Tom says.
"Luckily night has fallen. Keep following him," I said.
"If you are certain," Sir Tom says.
When the Captain's carriage takes a turn, the other two keep going straight and Sir Tom stops the carriage for a few seconds before following after the Captain's carriage.
"Stay a good distance away so we have a less chance of him noticing us," Sir Tom says.
"Good," I smile.
"So what are we going to do? He has company," Sir Tom says.
"We just figure out where he is staying first, go back for Miss Jauregui, and wait on what she will order," I said.
Up ahead, the Captain's carriage starts to slow down next to a cottage that has its porch lights lit up, showing a small group of Confederate soldiers that are all around, guarding the place.
"He has men guarding the place," Sir Tom says.
"Turn around before they spot us. We found out where he is staying," I said.
Sir Tom stops the horses from moving forward and directs them to turn back around and when they do, he lashes the reins and the horses take off as fast they can go.
Lauren's POV
Cyrus men open the heavy wooden double doors as we walk down some windy stairs and when we get to the bottom, we walk down a hall and into a big room full of cells and men in them who are chained against the back wall.
I look around at all of the men who stare back at me, some curious, pleading, and some with hatred, most likely thinking that I am just another slave owner like the rest.
"Here we are, Miss Jauregui. I already had the best men picked out, fitted just for you. If I am being honest, I was ready in case you gave me the honors of choosing for you," Cyrus stops in front of three men.
The three have their wrists and ankles chained and have three of Cyrus's men standing behind them, holding a knife against their backs in case they try something.
I look at all of them than around at the other men in their cells.
"What about that one?" I said.
I walk over to Camila's dad's cell as he looks at me confused.
"Me? I-"
"He is not for sale!" Cyrus cuts Camila's dad off as he walks over to me.
"Can I take a look at him at least?" I look at Cyrus.
"You can look at him through the bars. I cannot take him out of his cell, everytime I do he attacks my men and when I took him out today, he killed three of my men," Cyrus says.
