Lauren's POV

"I am sorry to hear that. If you don't mind me asking... How long?" Camila speaks behind me.

"Six months. The Colonel kept them alive for six months and that was that," I said.

"Do you..." Camila trails off, resting her hand on my shoulder then runs it down my arm, "Need any comforting?"

I turn around to face her as I close the distance between our bodies, pulling her by the waist.

"I feel like we both need it," I said. I cup her cheek and bring our foreheads together. "Sadly though we need to take care on finding where the Captain is," I said.

"Do you need any help?" Camila asks.

"Sir David and I will manage on our own," I said. I lean down and plant a feather kiss on her lips. "I will see you tonight for dinner," I said.

Later that night, we all sit down at the dinner table, Sir David and I at both ends of it.

The servants bring in the first course as we dig in as soon as the plates are set in front of us.

"So Sir David and I have been investigating all day," I speak.

"And?" Mr. Efron asks.

"We found out where the Captain is or will be," I said.

"What do you mean?" Camila asks.

"In a week he will go to a stadium that is well known for savages brawling to the death," I said.

"I know what you are talking about," Sir Ian says.

"Sadly, I think not all of us do, can you please explain more, Miss Jauregui?" Sir Trey speaks.

"It is owned by a slave owner named Cyrus. Most of the men are considered barbarians, they are all big and strong, they know how to fight which is why it makes it more interesting," I said.

I catch Miss Cabello's eye and she mouths to me that we will talk later, making me nod.

"Now then. This stadium is located in Texas so we will be going back to Florida tonight," I said.

"It is sad to hear that you guys will be departing," Sir David speaks.

I look at him from across the table. "Your estate has been welcoming and charming as always. It was yet another pleasure to be here," I said.

"And yet another pleasure to host you," Sir David raises his glass of wine.

I raise mine at him, causing the rest to do it as well.

"To Sir David, to his estate, and the cause!" I said.

"Hear hear!" The rest cheer.

We all clink our glasses and takes sips as the rest of dinner is accompanied by lively conversation.

After dinner, I'm in my room when I hear a soft knock on my door.

I walk over to it and open it to see Camila standing on the other side.

"A wonderful night, come in," I smile.

Camila steps inside and I close the door behind her as I turn around to face her.

"You wanted to talk to me?" I raise an eyebrow.

"Yes, about that stadium. Do you think my father could be there?" Camila asks.

"Based on how you always describe him. It is most likely," I nod.

"It frightens me to think my father could be in a place like that but he is hard to kill," Camila says.

"You and your family are all survivors. You have nothing to worry about," I said. I tuck a strand of loose hair behind her ear and cup her cheek. "I will investigate further," I said.

"Thank you," Camila says. She rests her hand over mine.

That causes my other hand to go up to her waist, pulling her closer to me.

"You do not have to thank me. I will do anything for you," I said.

"I do not know how to repay you," Camila says.

"Just be mine, that is all I ask for, how I want you to repay me," I whispered.

"I will always be yours, Lauren," Camila says.

A smile spreads across my lips as I connect our lips in a heated, yet passionate kiss.
