Ivy woke up very warm. With the sun's rays shining on her and the blanket (she didn't remember putting on), Ivy was almost sweating with the heat. Looking around the house, it didn't look like anyone returned during the night. Ivy assumed John B was still in the hospital. Hopefully, he was alright.
Ivy quickly grabbed a t-shirt and a pair of shorts from the ground. Written on the tag of the shirt, it read, "Property of J.J. Maybank." Ivy smiled to herself as she changed into his clothes. Right on cue, she heard a yawn coming from one of the bedrooms.
"Rise and shine, sunshine," JJ said, coming out of the room he was staying in. He had a beaming smile on his face and he stretched his arms over his head. "You sleep okay?"
"not bad actually, but why didn't i get to sleep in the bed?" She asked with a fake pout which only made JJ roll his eyes.
"Well, you had already fallen asleep and you looked so peaceful," JJ said, making his way to the couch. He plopped down next to her, eyeing her shirt. Well, his shirt "If I woke you, you would've hit me or something."
"probably, still not very gentlemanly of you"
"Oh, you want me to be a gentleman, do you?" Ivy nodded her head and replied with a little "mmhmm" JJ gave her a cheeky smile before standing up to go to the kitchen.
"Well, trust me when I tell you, there is nothing gentle about this man". Ivy could physically hear the smirk in his voice.
"you need help, you says that with that much confidence?"
JJ continued to walk into the kitchen with his back to Ivy. She was grateful, though. She didn't want him to see how red her face had gotten. There was a little flutter in her chest that she cursed herself for getting.
"What's for breakfast, JJ?" she asked from the couch, trying to change the conversation.
"Nothing," he deadpanned when he opened the fridge.
"Oh please don't be dramatic," She said this while standing up and making her way to the kitchen. "There can't be nothing."
"Look for yourself; John B really hasn't had time to stock up on food lately; he's preoccupied with Sarah Cameron's pussy"
"JJ," Ivy slapped his chest, "don't say that, they're not even dating yet, and Sarah still has Topper."
"As if Sarah is going to stay with that dickhead after what he did to JB" Oh yeah, Topper pushed him off the tower. Not a good look for him.
"Yeah, but I don't know. Just don't talk about my friends' pussy, it makes me uncomfortable."
"Whatever softie," JJ said, exiting the kitchen, making his way back to the couch, leaving Ivy alone and staring at the empty fringe, which was only filled with an empty beer can and two mouldy strawberries.
"I am not soft," Ivy said, closing the fridge and moving to sit on the countertop.
"right"
"Anyway, we needa go get food." She jumped off and walked past JJ to get outside. Once she was, the sun hit her face and she felt refreshed and awake.
"Where are we going?" JJ asked from still inside the house, watching Ivy from the window.
She didn't give him an answer. Ivy made her way to the van and started it up. JJ followed her in and eyed her the whole ride as if he'd never seen a girl drive before. Ivy liked the attention, but it felt weird coming from JJ. She was always used to him giving her attention in a friendly way, not a flirty way. Ivy is strong enough to admit he's gorgeous. Whoever said otherwise would be lying. It just wasn't what she accepted when they decided to make up.
