Ivy scanned JJ for an answer, but he didn't look like he was going to tell her.

"what? Where are you stalking me or something?"

JJ rolled his eyes and pulled open the car door, "get in, I'm taking you home"

"No, I want to know why you were there"

It made no sense to Ivy that he'd just show up, someone must've told him she was there. JJ wouldn't go to a kook party, let alone get invited to one. So what was he hiding from her? Why was he so hesitant to tell her the real reason he was there?

JJ took a deep breath before getting out of the car, he angrily pulled his phone out of his pocket and then held the phone to her face.

Ivy's heart dropped into her stomach, it was a video of her doing cocaine. Her heart started beating a million miles an hour. She'd never done something this bad or illegal, and now it was on camera. How could she be so reckless not to notice she was being filmed? But who sent it to JJ?

"how'd you get this?"

"Rafe" That fucking bastard, this must've been his plan, lure her into the party and catch her doing something bad to show JJ and get him upset.

"That's not what I'm mad about though" He paused for a moment and scrolled on his phone to open another video. Which to Ivy was much worse.

It was herself and Oliver, just before she had pushed him down on the couch, Ivy didn't understand why JJ cared, It wasn't really his business who she was with. She wasn't angry at him, just confused why he came. If she saw him doing coke it wouldn't of surprised her, Ivy would've just laughed it off and if she saw him with a girl, sure she'd be a little jealous but not enough to drive to the party and pull him away.

"I'm angry because you let him do... things, with you while you were off your head, no man with any dignity does that. I just, had a gut feeling something was going to happen and I rushed over. Happy now?"

Was she? The thought was sweet, she'd never imagined for JJ to come to save her, but it's the fact she didn't need saving that bothered her, it sounded like a big excuse, like he was covering up a lie. Ivy may have been on drugs but she was self-aware enough to know if she was comfortable or not, Oliver didn't give her any reason to worry.

"I guess, just remind me next time we see Rafe to punch him in the gut, if that video goes around my whole life will be over."

Ivy tried to calm herself down so JJ  would think it was all okay, he'd already done enough for her tonight. Rafe was currently holding Ivy's life in his hands, or phone. If her mum saw that, she'd lose everything. She would definitely never come back to Outer banks, she'd lose her friends at school, she wasn't surprised if her mum never let her leave the house again.

JJ could tell she was worried, he did his best to comfort her by placing his hands on her shoulders. He felt her release from her tense. "I'll delete it don't worry," he said reassuring her. With one hand, Ivy placed her hand over his, rubbing the back of his hand in circles with her thumb.

"it's not you I'm worried about."

JJ gave her a sincere look of empathy, she knew she had his support. Which she felt was strange, Ivy was still having trouble wrapping her head around their 'friendship' it was so sudden but it also felt like nothing had changed, just with more tension.

"Alright, well let's get going, do you have to be home yet?"

"Nah, mum said as long as when she wakes up and I'm home to doesn't matter what time I come back."
