James pulled the vehicle into a parking spot with the Park Entrance still in view. It was still pretty early but a number of cars were already filling up the lot. Carlos gave a sigh of relief that they managed to get a place to park that wasn't too far away cause he was sure they'd all be exhausted by the time they left. Jumping out of the van Carlos went to the trunk and began to pull out needed items. They'd be taking everything which would normally be a pain to drag around, but Carlos had rented a small pavilion in the party section of the park to store their things.
As Carlos gathered all their personal items everyone else pilled out of the van. Gus was practically jumping with excitement while the rest of them took in their surroundings. Luz could see the main entrance of Gravestone ahead with a giant sign. It was of a Tombstone you'd find in a graveyard that read 'Welcome to Gravestone' with a zombie hand coming out of the dirt to wave at visitors. Gravestone wasn't the most popular Amusement Park, but it was defiantly a good small family place to visit, especially around Halloween.
James helped Carlos finish unloading everything and called the teens to join them. It was clear they were all anxious to get going and start their new adventure, and both the older adult couldn't blame them. Going out with friends, seeing a new place, and just having fun was something everyone looked forward to. Looking at his cousin now Carlos could see the girl was just as excited as the Witches this being an experience she had never had.
"Okay, guys," Carlos said with a smile. "Here's how things are gonna go. We'll all take something and walk up to the entrance where they will check our belonging and our tickets."
"Wait," Willow asked confused. "Why do they need to check our stuff?"
"Safety reason," James added. "Making sure no one brings in anything dangers such as a weapon."
"Is that a common thing?" Willow continued a little worried.
"No," James said calming the teen's nerves. "There have been incidents but they are rare and far between. That is all thanks to these precautions, so no reason to be scared."
"Yeah," Carlos said in a low tone. "Plus if something does happen and you feel your life is in danger you have permission to use magic, but only for emergencies."
"Right," Willow nodded with restored confidence.
"Now then," Carlos said reaching into his jacket. "Here are everyone's tickets and passes. Keep these passes hung around your neck and you can get in the Fast Pass line for rides."
"Sweet!" The Blight Twins said together.
"No lines, no waiting, and I'm at a human Amusement Park?" Gus said in joy. "If this is a dream please don't wake me."
This dialogue promoted Edric to pinch Gus who yelped. The older illusionist chuckled at the younger saying he wasn't dreaming. Luz, Amity, Willow, and Emira laughed at their banter while James and Carlos just watched with smiles. Being near these teens seemed to make Carlos miss being their age despite not being that many years older. After you become an adult and start going to higher schools of education, or get a job, then you have little time for hanging out with friends. Even if you do get the time, odds are not all your friends will.
Carlos moved those thoughts out of his mind. He needed to focus so Luz and the others have a good time today. Before they moved towards the entrance Carlos handed Edric a bag of clothes, then handed Luz the bag of medical supplies, and he himself rolled the cooler behind him. James had the snack back around his shoulders and with that, they were ready to go. Giving a nod to the teens the group began to move towards the park entrance. As they walked James took Carlos' free hand and held it as they moved.
