A/N
Hi! Sorry that I haven't been writing in a while, I was a little busy and I forgot to update. First I would like to say that I have started anew book, called Raise Hell and Let It Burn. Please check it out, I have posted the first chapter today. I would also like to give a quick shoutout to VictoriaRobinson64, she is a great undiscovered author of Riptides and Dystopia. Please check her out and vote, comment, and share! :-)
Prim POV
As the metal doors slammed shut I felt my knees collapse, all energy drained from my body. Tears gathered in my eyes and for a second it was as if time had stopped, all I could hear was the rapid beating of my heart. A wasn't surprised at all when a small hand daintily grabbed my arm, manicured nails stabbng like needles. I was surprised however when Effie started to rubbed my back to sooth me. Sniffing, I wiped my eyes with the back of my hand and looked at an Effie I had never thought I would see. "You have a family, win the games for them," she said, " You need to come back to them, show the world that you are strong." I shook my head slightly in disbelief and she helped me to my feet. "You can make it out of the games, you are a survivor. It isn't fair that children whose families rely on them should be thrown in the Games but they have won before and you have to win too. Understand?" Recovering from my shock I said, "I will fight until a blade steals my final breath." and walked through a sliding door into the next car. I can not let the Games take away who I am and what I believe in, I can't and I won't.
