Kwared sat across from Phandrin, working on another weave with the flowers. It was so late, the starts completely visible.

"You really like this? The flowers, and hanging our with me? Or either," Phandrin asked, leaning his head in his hand as he watched Kwared.

"I do, I haven't had this much peace and quiet while also being genuinly happy in..." Kwared trailed off, smiling up at Phandrin.

"...a while I guess... Forever even.. this field makes all the bad thought go away," Kwared grinned, Phandrin smiling back as he watched Kwared tie off the second crown.

"I'm sorry love, you really should have gotten your peace," Phandrin sighed, taking the crown from Kwared and motioning him to tilt down.

"It's unfair, and-" Phandrin paused, setting the crown down, Kwareds ears shifting.

"You didn't deserve it, and I don't care how much you convince yourself you do," he finished sitting back again as Kwared blinked. Phandrins expression was warm, the boy radiating a welcoming tone.

"I guess.." Kwared paused.

"Do you think Kertia deserved it? Or Chishero? What makes you different.. you all went through hell, and from what I recall being told," Phandrin paused, reaching and adjusting the flowers and setting a hand in Kwareds face.

"You got some of it the worst, so really what makes it any different," Phandrin smiled sadly, Kwared nodding slowly.

"I don't know, they just haven't done what I've done," Kwared shrugged, grabbing another flower and staring at it for a minute.

Phandrin stayed quiet, knowing the boy would deny any remarks on this topic further. He wanted to keep the good mood, and he loved seeing Kwared let go.

"We can talk about it some other time, tell me once you get tired," Phandrin smiled, fixing the coat he wore, Kwared nodded.

"You too, you need to worry about yourself too, Phandrin," Kwared nodded quickly, setting his hand in Phandrins. Phandrin just nodded, tugging Kwared towards him. Kwareds widened when he stumbled into Phandrin, the boys arms wrapping around him.

"I know, but I'm so worried," Phandrin mumbled, tightening his grip. Kwared stayed quiet, hugging back once he could stabilize himself. Kwared was about to speak when Phandrin laughed slightly, Kwareds eyebrows furrowing.

"I never thought id have you like this," Phandrin smiled to himself. Kwared stayed quiet again, his grip tightening though, to show Phandrin he was listening.

"You hated me so much, and after the cabin.. I thought we were done," Phandrin smiled sadly, pulling back and setting his hands on Kwareds face again.

"So did I.." Kwared mumbled, closing his eyes for a second, a sigh escaping. Phandrin nodded, glancing down for a moment.

"I'm so glad we figured it out, I really don't like fighting with you, I hate seeing you upset," Phandrin shrugged, Kwared laughing under his breath and looking back at Phandrin again.

"You got the worst person for that, something's always wrong with me," Kwared snickered, setting his hands on Phandrins that were still on his face, holding their hands between them now.

"No there isn't, there's nothing wrong with you, just whats wrong with everyone, everything, anything around you, trust me," Phandrin nodded, leaving a print on Kwareds palm with a smile, setting another flower down in the same spot.

"You never did anything wrong love, you didn't ask to be brought where you were," Phandrin sighed, his own stomach twisting at the idea of that facility. He hated the idea of it, yet he didn't know much about it, no quadrants able to speak on it for too long. Maybe some day, Kwared would be able to tell him more without it hurting so much.

"You were young, and what Darvin's family did... I'm so upset you blame yourself," Phandrin mumbled, setting another flower down, Kwared opening his hands between them.

"It's alright, like you said, let's.focus on now," Kwared hummed, taking one of the flowers and touching Phandrins face with it, the red dust leaving a print.

"You're right, but soon," Phandrin nodded, leaving a kiss on Kwareds mouth with a smile. Kwared felt blood rush up his neck, not used to this still as he looked down, Phandrin laughing slightly.

"I don't want to go back to the dorms, I like it here," Kwared nodded to himself, leaning into Phandrin again, connecting his hands around Phandrins torso. He set the flowers they'd picked in his pockets, hoping he could keep them.

"I do too, and if Kitsune will give us chance, they will reform the field again when we need it," Phandrin nodded, leaning back and laying down. It was dark and the quadrants city had much less lights and pollution compared to the human cities, all the stars visible here. Kwared stayed facing to the side, laying on-top of Phandrin now. The tops of the flowers were basically glowing, Phandrin setting his hand to Kwareds braid, unraveling it so he could redo it.

"I hope they do," Kwared nodded, his tail wagging slowly beside them. It was completely silent other than their breathing and bugs nearby, the field protected under the force Phandrin guessed Kitsune put on the fields. It made it serene, and he could come back every minute if he could. Kwared seemed to love it as well, the boys breathing normal, and his body relaxed much more than he ever got to see.

"I didn't believe in Kitsune," Kwared muttered, Phandrin furrowing his eyebrows.

"Have you never met them? They usually meet quadrants at one point, they give the quadrants hope," Phandrin hummed, turning Kwareds hair into lots of smaller braids.

"They never did... Or maybe they did and I didn't notice. I believe in it now, this is all the proof I need, and to meet them would be an honor, but I feel like... Of all the quadrants she made, maybe I'm not the first she would meet, yknow," Kwared shrugged, turning his head to lean into Phandrin completely, closing his eyes for a moment. Phandrin stayed quiet for a moment.

"I'm sure they have a reason, they might be saving their visit with you for a special time, don't worry," Phandrin hummed, tying off the end of one braid with one of the flowers stems.

"Maybe, it would be nice... Especially with all of the lovely stories. Some say they looked like a normal quadrant, some say they appeared as dear past family, some say a god, I wanna know what they do for me," Kwared nodded. He leaned up onto his hands, hovering over Phandrin with a smile. Phandrin let go of his hair, smiling back with a nod.

"I'm sure it will be lovely, they always have good intent,"
