Kwared left.

He spoke to a supervisor soon after he left the cabin, claiming he was ill and needed to go home.

They allowed him, offering the boy a ride but he insisted that would be fine flying on his own. he didn't want nor need to be escorted. Kertia, Icarius, and Querda didn't have time to question him, the boy flying off immediately, not giving a second glance. Kartia furrowed his eyebrows, glancing between the three of them as they ran over to Phandrins cabin.

Kertia opened the door quickly, knocking on Phandrins door at a fast pace. Icarius and Querda followed, the supervisor has not noticed or maybe uncaring of the absence.

"I swear to kits-," Kertia heard Phandrin cuss opening the door quickly. His eyes widened, Phandrins eyes red and sunken, the boy's face covered in tears and his hair knotted.

"Kertia- I thought you were..." Phandrin started as he trailed off. Kertia growled lowly at him.\

"What the fuck happened, What did you guys do?!" He questioned as Phandrin stammered, Icarius setting a hand on Kertias shoulder.

"What happened to Kwared!?" Kertia spat as Phandrin paused.

"What's wrong with him-?" he asked, pinching the bridge of his nose. Kertia was angry, something had happened, Kwared was worried and then left without a word. That wasn't something he did, he would never take the short end.

"He just fucking left, no word, nothing, gone," Kertia growled, waving his hands as Phandrin stared at him. Phandrin felt his stomach drop further, their argument finally setting in as he felt nausea build up.

"I don't know what.... happened..." He muttered, gripping the door frame as he stared down.

"I didn't think he'd leave..."He finished as Kertia glared at him.

"What did you do,"

--------------------------------------

Kwared shut his dormitory door, his hand locking it quickly as he rushed to his bathroom. He let his tears fall, he was alone now, and he needed a reliever.

Phandrin didn't care anymore, there was nothing stopping him, and no reason not to. He reached under his bathroom drawer, pulling the hidden compartment as a needle fell, several bottles of various liquid falling as well.

It had been so long... his hands shaking as he grinned through his tears. Finally.

He fell back, his back against the bathtub as he shakily inserted the needle through the cork. He filled it as much as he could, pulling it out and staring at the drip down the side. He'd come so far, his addiction finally slowing. He almost regrets it, the metal hurting more than usual as he let out a sob. Once he got it in he let out a sigh of relief at the burn, the familiar drug entering his system. The familiarity felt amazing, he finally had it back, and he hated it.

He pulled the needle out as he stumbled to put everything back, cutting his hand on the end, letting out a hiss of pain as he gave up. he stood quickly going to his bedroom and sitting down. He cringed feeling his wings push against the mattress.

He pulled out his phone, calling his school administration as he filed an absence. He cleared his schooling for the next month, claiming health issues. They allowed him due to all of his hospital visits, they believed him.

They believed him.

He laughed as he hung up, his head falling back on his pillows, his head fogging up. He wanted to forget the past months, he wanted to forget everything, he wanted the drugs to kick in further.

He heard his phone vibrate, shakily picking it up, he opened the screen. 12 messages from Kertia, 3 from Ace, and 1 from Phandrin. He grinned at this, silent tears rolling down his face, but he wasn't sad. He wasn't happy either, he didn't know what was wrong with him.

He opened the messages from Kertia all asking where and how he was, Aces the same. He hesitated to open Phandrins, his jaw clenching. The drugs weren't strong enough.

He clicked it, the screen lighting up with their previous messages,

"Call me," Was all it read, and Kwared grinned wider.

He pressed the call button, laying back down again as he put the phone on speaker, setting it beside his head as he hummed the ringtone. On the other end, Phandrin slammed the door on Kertia quickly, answering the call with a shaky inhale.

"Kwared-,"

"Ohhh hi, Phanny," Kwared grinned, tears flowing faster as he smiled at the boy's voice.

"Kwared please tell me you just went home-," Phandrin rushed, his voice broken as Kwared snickered.

"You sound so worried, what a change from earlier. Of course, I'm at home, why wouldn't I be," he said, shutting his eyes as he listened to Phandrins breathing through the phone, humming to himself.

" Was that all-,?"

"You're high." Phandrin deadpanned. Kwared went quiet before laughing loudly, the tears on his voice confusing him mentally, his laughs breaking into sobs every few moments before turning back into laughs.

"You're so funny, Phandrin," Kwared huffed, grabbing his phone and sitting up. He whipped his tail around as he stared at the small profile photo of Phandrin.

"Of course I'm high," he said, pressing the settings and removing his contact.

"It's me, I'm always high," He began, his voice heightening as he swallowed, his saliva thick from the drugs.

"Gotta test the antidotes to get rid of the disease hm?" He smiled, bringing the phone to his ear.

"Don't worry, you don't have to babysit me, I've got it," Kwared laughed as he stood, opening his bay window. He pulled out a cigarette, his hands shaking too much to light it as he yelled in exasperation.

Phandrin stayed quiet, listening to Kwared shuffling around.

"Stay on the call with me, love," he mumbled, his chest restricting as he felt sick to his stomach. Kwared felt physical pain upon hearing this, almost digging his hands through his phone.

"But I need to play video games and forget about your entire existence dear," Kwared mused, the pet name mocking as he glared at the wall.

"You hate video games," Phandrin said quietly, his tone regretful.

"Fine, truth is, I do not want to talk to you..." Kwared paused turning to face the drop of the building, a familiar urge as he swallowed.

"You seemed to want me to be dead to you," he finished as he heard Phandrin let out a cry on the other end.

"P-please just stay on the phone," he heard the boy beg, his chest tightening as he stepped back. His eyes burned, his phone dinging indicating a low battery.

"I deleted you from my contacts, my phones about to die, and I'm finally getting my relief. Go see your friends, you wouldn't want me holding you back~," Kwared grinned, ending the call. Phandrin sat wide-eyed on the other end, biting down on his thumbnail. He heard the click, his eyes clenching shut as more tears fell. He stood up, his rage fueling as he smashed his phone down into the wooden flooring. the glass shattered to bits, the screen fading to black.

Kwared stood on his bay, staring out as the day turned to evening.

Maybe it wouldn't be bad to be alone again.
