Olivia had just woken up from her nap when her phone rang. She was wondering if it was her fiance, but she saw an unknown number. After the fight with her family, Olivia and Elliot got new numbers so no one could contact them, and Olivia had forgotten most of their numbers anyway since she had experienced a brain injury.
"Hello?" Olivia questioned as she sank down onto her bed.
"Uh, hi."
"Who is this?" Olivia mused, as she prepared to end the call.
"It's me, Liv. Matty."
"Matthew? Why are you calling me?" Olivia breathed as tears stung her eyes. She missed her family, but she didn't think they missed her. But now her little brother was calling her, and she was having a hard time not thinking about how close they used to be.
"I saw that amazing fiance and son of yours, and I asked about you. I lost my mom and I hate that I lost you too." Matthew sighed.
"You didn't lose me, Matty. I just had to focus on my family and my health. Mom was being crazy about this situation, and I can't deal with her. I know that she's disappointed in me for being pregnant, but I love my child."
"Miles said you are having a girl... that must be nice." Matthew spoke awkwardly.
"Matty, come over tomorrow at around noon. We will be home from church then, and then you and I can have a face-to-face conversation. You can see the sonogram pictures of your niece and see with your own eyes that I'm doing better."
"Are you sure that you want to see me?"
"Yeah, Matty. I really want to see you."

"Mama, why can't I hang out with you this afternoon?" Miles asked, as his mother helped him get changed out of his church clothes and into play clothes.
"I'm having a guest over, and I need to talk to him."
"You can still talk to him while we play cars, Mama!" Miles exclaimed, as Olivia pulled his shirt down and over his head.
"Sure, baby. But it's Uncle Matty."
"Uncle Matty? Daddy and I saw him yesterday, right?" Miles asked as he leaned his head to the side. Olivia reached out and smoothed his curls before nodding.
"Yeah, baby. I haven't seen my brother in a while, and we have some catching up to do. So please... hang out with Daddy or your grandparents. Maybe see if Daddy can call Auntie Carol and get her to bring Jessica over." Olivia smiled, and her son's eyes lit up.
"Jessi would play cars with me!"
Matthew showed up not long after Olivia got her little boy changed. Elliot answered the door before sending Matthew upstairs and to where Olivia was waiting for him.
"Knock, knock." Matthew spoke as he opened his sister's door. Olivia turned around from her closest before smiling at her brother.
"Hey, Matty. Thanks for coming over."
"Of course, Liv. When we found out you were pregnant, I could never imagine seeing you pregnant... now here you are and you are glowing." Matthew breathed. Olivia quickly moved to her brother before hugging him tightly.
They hadn't grown up together from the start, but their bond as siblings was as strong as it could be. Olivia had always imagined how great of an uncle Matthew would be to her children, but even now she didn't know if she'd ever witness that.
"Matty, I'm so glad that you are here. We have so much to catch up on! Like how's college?!"
"College is going great. I have made some great friends, but still haven't settled on a major yet."

Matthew and Olivia talked for hours before they hesitantly said their goodbyes. Matthew went home afterwards, but he didn't know what to tell his parents. Serena was still pissed off at Olivia and Elliot, so he was certain she wouldn't approve of his visit with Olivia.
"Alright, I managed to find that fancy coffee you asked for." Matthew smiled as he walked into the kitchen. Serena looked up from her computer and smiled at her son.
"Thanks, Matty. How was your day?"
"It was great." Matthew replied, as he put away the groceries that he was asked to pick up.
"So, who is the girl that kept you out for hours?" Serena asked, as she looked at Matty's face for a reaction.
"It's not like that." Matthew sighed, as his father joined them in the kitchen.
"What's happening?" Doug asked.
"Matty has a girlfriend that he hasn't told me about. Now, help me get it out of him." Serena laughed.
Matthew tried his hardest to keep his mouth shut as his parents teased him and asked him questions. Eventually, Matthew couldn't keep his mouth shut for any longer, and he blurted out the name of the girl that took up his afternoon.
"Olivia!"
"What?" Serena breathed as she looked her son over.
"I spent my afternoon with my big sister. We talked, and I got to see sonogram pictures of her baby... which is a girl. We talked about her recovery, depression, and her newly discovered faith. She showed me pictures of the months we have missed, and I realized we were fucking horrible to her." Matthew frowned, as he gripped on tightly to the counter.
"No-" Serena started, but Doug interrupted her.
"How is she doing?" Doug whispered.
"She still has memory problems and her body aches often... other than that, she's doing good. She is so excited to meet her daughter, and to get married to Elliot. They haven't set a date yet, but will plan things more once the baby is here."
"She picked that bastard over us, Matty. You can't be seeing her." Serena whimpered.
"Mom, I will not stop seeing my sister. She has been my best friend since you and Dad started to date... and life has been hard without her."
"I don't want to hear about her, Matthew! So no one is going to talk about her, and no one is seeing her! End of discussion!" Serena yelled. She stormed out of the kitchen as Doug moved to his son.
"Mom has work tomorrow, so maybe we can see her together."
"Really?" Matthew breathed.
"She's my daughter, and I'd really like to see her. So... did she give you one of those pictures?" Doug spoke, and Matthew nodded as he pulled a shiny picture from his pocket.
"This is my niece and your granddaughter."
