No one got to see Olivia for a while after the attack. She was taken downstairs to the ER to be observed and to make sure she didn't go into labor. Elliot sat in the conference room and talked to the head of security.
"Son, what happened?" The older man asked, as he looked over Elliot.
"I came back from making a few calls and found that my father-in-law had his hands wrapped around my wife's throat. I did what I had to do to make sure he didn't kill her and my baby." Elliot replied, his voice shaking a bit.
He was still upset about what had happened, and hated to think about losing Olivia and Jade. He didn't want to bury his girls.
"We do have video cameras in here, and they are taping at all times. So if you aren't telling the truth, then I will find out and call the cops." The man frowned.
"Roger, I was in here. So was his mother. We tried to get Dr. Benson to let Olivia go, but he wouldn't. Elliot did what he had to do to save her." Dr. Rowe spoke as she finally spoke up.
"Okay. I will check the tapes and get back to you. Don't leave the hospital." Roger sighed before standing and leaving the room.
Elliot rested his head against the table and let out a few shaky breaths. All he wanted to do was cry, but he had to be strong.
"Are you okay, Elliot?" Dr. Rowe asked, and Elliot shook his head before sitting up.
"My wife could have died tonight... and so could have my baby. I'm just overwhelmed and pray that nothing bad comes from this."
///
Elliot went downstairs once a nurse came to get him. He was led to Olivia's bed, and left alone with her. Olivia's neck was bruised, and she didn't look great.
"How are you doing, baby?"
"I am not doing great, El." Olivia croaked out.
"Did they say if anything was broken?" Elliot questioned, and Olivia shook her head slightly.
"Nothing is broken, but they said my neck is going to be bruised for a while... and my vocal cords may be bruised too." Olivia whispered. She reached out to her husband, and Elliot sank down beside her. He caressed her hair as tears blurred his vision.
"I should have stayed in the room, then he would have tried to kill me and not you."
"El, it's okay. Jade and I are fine. She's still doing great." Olivia spoke with a weak smile.
Elliot nodded weakly, before just looping his arms around Olivia and holding her close.
They stayed like that for several moments, before Olivia let out a small gasp.
"Liv?" Elliot asked, and Olivia took a slow breath before turning to look at the monitor to the side.
"I think that was a contraction." Olivia whispered.
"Huh?"
"Can you please get a nurse? That really hurt."
///
"Where's Olivia?" Bernie asked, once she had finished talking to the police once they arrived.
"Uh, she was taken to the maternity floor." Elliot replied nervously, as she grabbed his mother's hand and led her towards the elevator.
"Huh?"
"I was sitting with her and she started to have contractions. A nurse checked on her and monitored her for about twenty minutes and Olivia had like two contractions and so they took her upstairs." Elliot replied nervously. He had no idea what to expect when his wife went into labor, especially since she wasn't due for another month and they were out of town.
"Do they think that they can stop the contractions?" Bernie asked, once they stepped into the elevator.
"I don't know, Ma. I don't know what they do to pregnant ladies that go into labor early." Elliot frowned.
Bernie looked at her son for a moment before grabbing his hand.
"Jade is big enough to be born today. If they can't stop her contractions, I guess that you are going to be a father again soon." Bernie smiled.
Once they got onto the maternity floor, Elliot and Bernie found Olivia's room quickly. They expected for a lot of noise to come from Olivia during her contractions, but she was mostly quiet thanks to her injury.
"How are you doing, kiddo?" Bernie asked, and Olivia swallowed hard before speaking weakly.
"They told me to call whoever I want up here for Jade's birth, so I texted my mom. She's going to catch a flight here once Joseph is out of work so she can be here with us." Olivia smiled.
"So Jade is coming soon? Liv, did they try to stop your labor?!" Elliot asked worriedly. Olivia reached out and caressed her husband's pale cheeks and grinned.
"They said that she's ready, El. What happened earlier jumpstarted my labor, but they said that they think it was going to happen soon either way."
"I'm scared, Liv."
"I was too, but after today... becoming Jade's mother is the least scary thing to happen."

Serena smiled as she watched her little girl cuddling her own little girl. Jade was born a little after midnight, and it was as if she and mother didn't have a brush with death the day before.
"How are you feeling, baby?" Serena asked, and Olivia looked up from Jade and gave her mother a sleepy smile.
"I feel amazing." Olivia croaked out.
"You don't sound amazing." Serena teased weakly.
"Mama, Daniel did this to me."
"Huh?" Serena asked.
"I confronted Daniel, and he tried to squeeze the life out of me." Olivia replied.
Serena stood slowly and moved to where her daughter laid. She ever so gently ran her fingers over the bruises on Olivia's neck, before swallowing hard.
"What did he say?"
"He admitted, Mama. He wouldn't have gotten angry about me calling him a rapist if he hadn't done it. Daniel knew that I knew what he did, and he didn't like it. But I almost feel a sense of relief knowing that he is sitting in a cell right now."
"I wish that I would have told you sooner, Liv."
"Mama, I was scared that when I saw him again that I wouldn't be able to tell him what I thought, but I did today. Everything is so much better now. I'm a wife, a mother, in the fall I'll be a teacher again, and I'm your daughter again. I can't remember a time that I have been this happy."
Hey guys, so this book is done. I was getting bored so decided to finish it. Thanks!
