Sunny's POV

Long plane rides were the death of me.

I've been living on a diet of peanuts and dinner rolls for the past twelve hours, and I was heading to my final destination after two layovers. It was summer vacation, and my best friends and I arranged a trip to New York City for a week. I would be back in America, just on the opposite coast from where I go to school. I was so excited, and I had to contain myself from audibly screeching and kicking the chair in front of me like a five year old.

I decided to check the flight tracker after taking a long sip of my Coca-Cola, just to see how much longer I'd be stuck here before landing. I was flying over Boston, just under an hour left before landing.

I grinned, and then before I knew it, the pilot announced that we were starting our descent.

Time for the best two weeks of my life.

________

"SUNNY!" I heard someone screech. That "someone" was Grace Khatri, who threw herself on me as soon as she saw me.

"Woah, geez, Grace. I missed you too, but I need to breathe!" Grace giggled, took my hands, and started bouncing up and down. She turned back and gasped.

"LARS!" she yelled, running into her best friend's arms and hugging them tightly. Lars Sua squealed and Grace and her hugged for what seemed like an eternity before letting go. I felt someone tap my shoulder and squealed. "MIAAAA!"

Mia Fernandez laughed and we hugged. "I missed you guys. Now all we need is Evie and we're good!"

"Evie who?"

"EVIE!" we all yelled at the same time. Evie Schubert dropped her bags and hugged the life out of all of us.

"Let's go have some fun!"

_______

"You look ridiculous." Grace said. "Why on Earth did you think you needed all that tourist garbage?"

"Cause it makes me look good!" Lars said.

"We're seeing a Broadway show tonight, you better change out of that before we go." Mia said. Lars groaned and said, "Fine, but Mia, you're doing my makeup for me."

"Larson Sua, you know I can't do makeup for the life of me. Do you want to look good or do you want to look like you just escaped the circus?" Mia said.

"Either's fine with me at this point." Lars said. Grace snickered and said, "I have a surprise. WE'RE GOING TO THE STATUE OF LIBERTY!"

"YES!" we all yelled at the same time.

"Climbing stairs! Fun!" Evie said sarcastically.

"Come on, Evie, the view is worth it." I said. "Plus, I need to get a workout in."

"Don't shove anyone down any stairs, Sunny, this isn't a race." Lars said. I snickered and said, "What made you think I'd do that?"

"What made you think you wouldn't do that?" Grace said. I laughed and said, "Fine...you guys win...but only because I love you."

"We love you too, Sunny. Now, let's go climb some steps!" Mia yelled.
