"the sun will shine again"
tw//nightmares, anxiety
Gyeoul woke up way too early today.
She woke up after another night of nightmares—always the same dark closet.
She still remembers the way she was pushed inside against her will,
the way they laughed and walked away while she pleaded to be let out.
"Please, let me out. I don't like being in the dark alone, please."
Banging on the door didn't help and neither was shouting for help.
Nothing led to her escape.
So with a final blow to the door with her fist, she gave up and sat down on the floor, her back on the wall.
She doesn't remember how many hours she waited.
Or who she was waiting for.
She badly wanted to be in the comfort of her bed, her pillows surrounding her with her blankets all over her.
She closed her eyes for a moment, thinking about her bed, trying to calm herself down despite being scared out of her wits in the dark quiet room.
But as soon as she opens her eyes, she's back to reality and everything seems scarier.
The silence was deafening and instead of it being annoying it was eerie.
She liked being alone and quiet sometimes but she hated this.
Being alone in a dark quiet room wasn't something to be fond of.
The way she couldn't hear anything from the halls outside the door in front of her.
Or how nothing inside the room was making noise and all that she could hear was her erratic breathing and the way she was moving slightly, looking around the best she could hoping to see any object just for her to know where exactly she was locked in.
But all her eyes could catch was black.
It was completely dark inside the room she was in.
There was light coming in from the threshold but it wasn't enough to give a little light to her surroundings.
So instead of focusing on her fears, she decided to watch the light coming in from the foot of the door, waiting for something or someone to block it, so she could cry out for someone to open the door for her if someone passed by.
She hoped and prayed until the light coming from the door got brighter and suddenly someone opened the door.
But she was too close to passing out to notice who came for her and cradled her in their arms.
She smiled, thanking the frantic people for saving her, then blacked out.
Gyeoul woke up with a start.
Panicked, she clutched on her shirt trying to catch her breath, eyes moving around in terror trying to recollect her memories and figuring out where she was.
Realizing she was dreaming of what happened again and she was currently in the safety of her new room and in the comfort of her bed, she calms down, sighing to herself.
She turned to her bedside table and checked her phone for the time.
4:26, it reads. She sighed in slight frustration.
She awoke too early from a nightmare that has been haunting her since the day it happened.
She grabs at her hair and pulls out her hair tie she left the night before.
