"it feels like you're right next to me"

filler chapter/extension!! feel free to skip if u want to as this doesn't affect the storyline at all :)

Gyeoul and Sunoo were sitting on a bench, arguing–well, more like, Gyeoul was sitting on the bench and Sunoo was on her phone screen and the phone was propped up against the bench so he could see the same thing she was seeing.

Gyeoul got tired of walking and decided to sit. Sunoo, of course, not forgetting his statement from before shouted that 'he knew she would get tired', which earned Gyeoul a few stares from passersby. She nagged at Sunoo, telling him that he shouldn't shout as he was on speaker, which led to an argument because Sunoo thought it was stupid of Gyeoul to not wear earphones.

Their argument ceased when Sunoo's mum called him to eat and that's when Gyeoul noticed that a lot of time had actually passed since she came to the park.

"Ah frick. It's already lunch time, I told my mum I was coming home early," she pouted.

"I should go, I'll pass by your house to give you your tteokbokki, just let your mum know I'm passing by." she says in one breath.

"I hope she'll be okay with it—oh no! What if she doesn't take it or thinks I'm weird? I mean she doesn't even know me an-" Sunoo cuts her off saying, "It's okay, calm down. I'll tell her you're coming to give something and don't worry, she knows you're my friend," he assures the anxious girl.

"Now go get my tteokbokki, I really really want them!" he whines.

"Okay, okay. I'll let you know when I'm near your house. Bye Sunoo!" she waves at the phone before ending the call.

Gyeoul started heading out of the park, cooing at the dogs she saw on her way out and bidding the guard a nice day.

She was happy that she was able to make Sunoo happy first thing in the morning. It felt fulfilling. She's happy as long as she can make someone happy.

Coming into the shop, she realised she would have to talk to the lady at the cash register. Anxiously, she dragged her feet towards the menu to see what they had.

After making her mind up, and of course, gathering the courage to speak up, she turned to the lady raising two fingers, "Two orders of tteokbokki with cheese, please–oh and thank you." she meekly said.

The lady smiled, noticing the child fidgeting and her uneasiness, she talked softly to Gyeoul, hoping Gyeoul would calm down slightly and feel at ease. The lady smiled once more after seeing Gyeoul smile.

After the lady headed to the back to fix her order, Gyeoul turned away from the counter to look for a seat where she could wait for her order.

Taking her phone out, she texted Sunoo to ask if cheese tteokbokki was good for him and texted her mum that she's almost on her way home and just stopped to buy something for Sunoo then turned her phone off to look around.

It was a relatively small place but comforting. She loved the ambiance and aroma of the place. The comforting dim lights, how it wasn't crowded nor that noisy–it was a lovely shop, she vowed to herself that she'd definitely visit again.

The lady came to give her the orders and as she paid, she complimented the lady's shop and smiled.

Walking out of the shop, she waves at the lady and bids her a nice afternoon then once again heads towards the direction of her house.
