Ella's PoV
When Patil, Sahnn, and I reached my new home, the first thing I noticed was how old it was. The walls were so eroded that the only thing holding them together were the vines that snaked up anything they could reach.
There were guards just outside the main entrance. While the vines offered a good way to climb up the walls, they were so thick that it would be like swimming in mud that was starting to dry. They caved into the wall, creating an impossible way up, but they remained firm, so the wall still remained.
One of the two guards nodded to us, drawing back his spear to let us pass. The other looked at me skeptically, refusing to move his weapon, but after a growl from Sahnn, he reluctantly let me pass.
Being from the castle, I knew exactly what had gone on. There are usually two or more guards outside the main gate. One looks for familiar faces and moves their spear, while the other looked for unfamiliar people and sorted them out. Sahnn gave me the permission needed to enter.
Patil and Sahnn shifted back once they got inside. I closed my eyes so that they could put some clothes on, though Iona was urging me to open them. When Isis gave the all clear, I opened my eyes to see Patil and Sahnn had changed into jeans and T-shirts.
"Follow me." Patil said. "There's clothes in your room. Shift in there so you can change. We'll take you to our Alpha once you're done."
I knew that if I shifted back, I'd still have my clothes from earlier on, so I did that. Only, the second I shifted, I shifted right back into Iona. But I still couldn't hide it from the guys. Sahnn smirked, "I see your mother's charm on clothes doesn't work this far away from her."
I ducked my head, embarrassed. They motioned me to follow them as the skin under my fur got hot. If I was in human form, I would be blushing with embarrassment.
I trotted after Patil and Sahnn as they went to a huge staircase. My guess was that it led to the other rooms
Patil stopped outside a large door and said, "This is your room. Change, then meet me out here."
He opened my door and I walked in. After it closed, I shifted back. I was still embarrassed from earlier, so I looked for things that covered a lot of skin, but nothing for cold weather. It was too hot outside for that.
I ended up choosing light blue jeans and a high, v-neck white shirt. Presentable, but not fancy. Just how I liked it.
"But how do they know my size..." I wondered aloud. Then, I shuddered as thoughts went through my head that I would rather not be thinking.
For some reason, the necklace and the arrow stayed with me as I shifted. I brought the necklace up to my face. The detail was perfect. The pendant was a long, narrow tube of iron, and the instruments engraved on it were flawless. With a flute at one end and an oboe at the other, the instruments ranged from a tuba to a clarinet. I smiled when I saw the saxophone, the instrument I played.
I peeled off the note that was wrapped around the leather braid holding the necklace together, preparing to read it, but I decided against it again. That note could very well be the last thing I read from my parents. I wanted to save it.
I ducked my head and threw the necklace over my head. I put the note under the head of the arrow, which I would look at later.
I walked out of my room, and Patil rolled his eyes. "Sheesh. How long does it take you to get dressed?"
I scowled. "That was five minutes! I can take longer, so, unless you want me to do that, you better shut up." I growled testily, my temper rising quickly.
"Okay, okay! No need to get angry!"
We walked the rest of the way to the Alpha's room in silence; me pondering what I was going to say, Patil probably terrified I was going to lash out in front of his Alpha.
When we got to the room, Patil stopped. "As you know," he started, "I'm not allowed to finalize the deal we made. You must appeal to Alpha, and your brothers will probably be released."
Rolling my eyes, I stepped forward. "Thank you so very much for that piece of useless information. In case you forgot, I grew up in a castle. I know basic stuff like that!"
With that, I shoved the doors to the Alpha's room open and marched in, chin up high. My brothers will be released, and I will not stop at anything until that happens.

I feel like I say this every author's note, but still.
I'M SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SORRY FOR TAKING SO LONG.
To make up for it, I tried to make this chapter longer. Didn't really work, but its the thought that counts, eh?
Okay, I've decided. I'm going to try and make my chapters 1000 words long (this one's 820, but still). If I can't do that (good ending point, brain-dead moment, ect.) then I'll try to get 800 at least.
I can't designate a time for when the next chapter will be up, for you guys know that I never update that early. I will TRY (key word: try) to update soon, but who knows. Come next year I could finally get around to just creating a new part.
Anyways...
