Ella's PoV

The first thing I noticed was the hairless, wrinkly thing behind the desk. Seriously, I didn't even know that people of any type could live to look two thousand years old. Of course, I could easily be looking at the most respected wolf on the planet, but sheesh!

At least he wasn't fat.

Okay, so I generally don't judge people on looks, but I knew instantly that I couldn't work with this man. Something about him made me want to shield my eyes away from him. And it wasn't just his ugliness.

"Hello," a raspy voice said as the man sat up a bit straighter. "I'm Elder Thasro, the oldest known wolf in this world. The Alpha and Beta had some... business to attend to, so they set me..." he trailed off in a coughing fit, and his eyes filled with pain. Though I got irritated at the fact that the Alpha and Beta couldn't take time out of their day to speak to me, I couldn't help the stab of sympathy that ran through me. Elder Thasro probably needed rest, but as the oldest one, he had to step in.

The Alpha must be heartless if they didn't feel cruel doing this. It doesn't matter how important the business is, you always look after your pack as if they are your pups.

Elder Thasro regained his composure and began speaking again, "They sent me to meet you. We can talk about the deal made with the two warrior wolves, and when we're done you can go back to your room."

I shook my head. "I'm going to only negotiate with the Alpha."

Elder Thasro snarled. "You will negotiate with me or with no one." he snapped.

That's what I didn't like. He quickly disregarded my words without second thought.

I twisted my lip up in a small sneer as I replied, "I was told that I would speak to the Alpha. I won't do anything until I do."

I suddenly felt pressure coming from behind my right ear. It felt like someone was using magic.

I had just enough time to hear Isis's warning before Iona took control of my body and forced me down. I looked up as a beam of bright light came from feminine-looking hands.

The light hit the elder, and he howled in pain. I heard a female gasp, "Elder Thasro! I'm so sorry!"

I saw the woman's hands wave to the side, and Elder Thasro coughed a bit before steadying himself in the chair. I checked with the twins before standing up and turning to face the woman. Only it wasn't just her, but a man as well. Both looked to be in their late 20s, early 30s.

I growled at them. Right after the spell had been cast, Iona had told me that it was a corporative spell, and the couple in front of me probably wanted to use it to make me speak. My lips twisted into a snarl at the thought, and I glared.

The couple matched the intensity of my stare. The woman had smooth, golden curls and blue eyes. The man had dark brown hair and green eyes. I could tell they were mates because of the way the man held her protectively. That, and the fact that the woman had looked at him with worry and affection as he slightly stepped forward.

The man bowed his head. "Cami." he said, addressing me. My eyes narrowed. This guy was stupid if he thought that I would magically become his best friend because he said the name of a long dead wolf. Well, technically Cami lives in me, but my point is that I'm not going to be all nice and flowery while people try to make me do something I don't want to.

I growled the words out between my clenched teeth. "What the heck do you want?" I asked, stressing each syllable.

As the woman opened her mouth to speak, Patil and Sahnn barged in. "What's going on?" Patil asked, rage in his eyes.

The couple cowered slightly under the fire of his gaze, and the man replied, "S- she wasn't cooperating."

Patil's eyes flashed. "I thought I said that this was a last resort option! An I right?"

The couple nodded. "Yes."

Sahnn cut in. "Yes what?"

The man squinted. "Yes, Alpha."

Ok, so I feel like I start out every single chapter with an apology. Like, no joke.

I think that you guys are starting to get the point. I'm terrible at updating, and when I finally get around to it, it's not that good. Eh.

This time, instead of many excuses (though I could probably give you a whole bunch), I'm going to say an idea I had.

I'm going to try something because its finally summer. I'm going to try to update in a two week frame. Every two weeks, hopefully a chapter will be up. Even if the thing is 97 words long, I'll publish it.

Now note: I do not spend my life on WattPad. I, believe it or not, have a life. So please bear with me if things get crazy with my updating schedule. Also, I'll be at camp for a month. I go for two weeks, come back for a night, then go up again. Do not expect me to update then, because I will be an exhausted wreck.

Oh, also comment on what day you want the two week deadline to be. I am in CST (I think).

Anyways...
