Ella's PoV
I yawned, forcing my eyes to open as the alarm clock next to me blared in my ear.
My almost-black eyes narrowed as I read the time on the clock.
"7:15?!?!?!" I practically screamed. Only thirty minutes to get ready and get to class!
I leaped out of bed, quickly changing into bright green shorts and a white cutoff shirt. I then put a green flower headband on after brushing my long curly blond hair.
I ran down the castle stairs to see my brothers, Jake, Paul, Sam, Peter, Liam, Fredrick, Mason, Zander, Xavier, and Arthur, all eating their breakfast in the dining hall.
I sat at my spot and dug in as my mother commented, "Nice of you to finally join us Ella."
The bacon was gone within seconds, then the eggs, and I practically inhaled my pancakes.
I ran out, yelling a bye over my shoulder as I barely made the bus.
.:.:.:.:.
The girl in front of me was sneering down at me.
"Maybe you'll actually have to stay here after you turn twenty while the rest of us go enjoy our lives with our wolves!"
She then kneed me in the stomach and walked away.
You see, all children must go to classes until the age twenty. Most of the classes are about your wolf, so if you didn't have one by a certain age, you were made fun of. No questions asked.
But that wasn't the worst part. Even if I had my wolf, I was a tremendous bookworm, and I absolutely loved doing everything my brothers did!
I made my way to class, completely ignoring the pain in my belly, as I sat down in my chair.
The teacher, Ms. Larankee, stood up.
"Today, we will go out into the yard to see what our wolves can help us do while we are in our human form. Anyone can participate in this activity."
I nearly smiled. This was an activity I didn't need I shift for! Even if I didn't have the ability to shift yet, I still had the werewolf perks in my human form.
We all went out into the yard, and Ms. Larankee motioned for us to stand at the starting line of the track.
"Everyone must run three laps around the track for warm-up, and the winner gets to be first in the lunch line, plus a bag of chocolate!"
I chuckled to myself. Ms. Larankee knew our weakness as a class, and that was chocolate.
Well, I was pretty motivated to win, but I knew I wasn't too fast, so I didn't get my hopes up.
As Ms. Larankee blew her whistle, signaling for us to start, I had only one thought.
Just because I probably won't win doesn't mean I won't try!
**********
Sorry it took so long to update! I've been busy with school coming up.
Am I the only one who absolutely hates school? Like not the people and stuff, but certain parts make me really angry. Especially waking up early. That just drags me down, getting me in a sour mood.
I still can't believe that I slept in past 1:30 a few days ago.
I must've been really tired!
Alright, I'm done talking.
