Ella's PoV
"What's Cami?"
With those two words, the entire room seemed to still. The two men turned to my parents.
"You haven't told her the story?!" the one on the left exclaimed.
My mom paled. "Of course we did! We read it to her when she was seven!"
The other man scoffed. "And I'm sure it ended with Cami and Lorex becoming best friends and running off into the sunset to catch butterflies and find their mates. Moral of the story, be nice to everyone. That is not the true story of the Daughter of the Moon Goddess!"
My father stood. "If you are just going to criticize how this nation works, get out. You said you would leave after you saw my daughter. Well, you saw her. Leave us."
"Oh, we're not just here to see your daughter, we're here to take her to where she belongs." the first one declared. He turned to me and said, "I'm Patil, and this is Sahnn. We come from the only safe pack for wolves like us."
"What do you mean?" my mother asked. "Ella, what are they talking about?"
I shook my head. "I have absolutely no idea."
Sahnn's eyes flashed. "You should, especially since your wolf, excuse me, wolves are so different."
'Shoot.' Isis said. 'He knows.'
'Patil's cute...'
'Iona, get those thoughts out of your little furry head right now.'
'Do you guys know what these people want?' I asked.
'No...' Isis said.
'Those blue eyes really go with his hair. And his face! Oh, where do I begin?'
I mentally rolled my eyes. 'Iona?'
'Yes?'
'Shut up.'
'Fine.'
A cough from Sahnn jolted me from my mental conversation. "If you are quite done with conversing with the twins, we should probably get going."
"The twins..." my mother's gaze clouded with confusion. "Oh my... you don't... but that's impossible!" She stamped her foot down for emphasis. "Their strength was sapped out thousands of years ago! They can't be back now!"
Patil still had his calm demeanor about him. "If you don't believe us, ask your daughter to shift."
"Hey!" I protested. "Don't talk about me like I'm not here! I get a say in this, too!"
Everyone looked to me, and I started to feel self-conscious, until Sahnn broke the silence.
"Yes, you do have a choice. But you will come with us in the end."
I scowled. "You can't force me into anything."
"No, we can't." Patil replied. "But we will only release your brothers if you join us."
I felt as if someone was slowly squeezing my neck. The pressure in my lungs was tightening by the seconds.
"Y-you were the ones who kidnaped my sons?!" my mother asked, her eyes turning black with anger. I saw her curl her hand behind her back, and I felt pressure fill the room. I don't know how, but I could sense the magic in the air.
She was about to cast the spell, a fire spell, but I felt more magic pressure, and my parents and I were knocked down by an invisible wall.
"My, my," Sahnn said, walking towards my mother. "You do know quite a lot of magic, more than I would've thought possible for a stained wolf."
