Chapter 12

"BUD, YOU sure you're okay?" Vsql asked when he stepped inside his house and Ql was tailing him. Magkasunod lang sila ni Ql na dumating.

Pabagsak siyang naupo sa tabi ni Gryf. Naroon ang lima niya pang kaibigan sa living room at mukhang kagagaling lang din ng trabaho.

"Why do you ask when it's obvious that I'm far from okay?" Pyrmont replied tiredly, resting his head on the sofa.

"Why?" Xenux asked eyes on his phone and was still in his white coat from Crown's Hospital.

Nagkibit-balikat siya saka nagtanong para sa lahat. "How's living with Dessert?"

Nagkatinginan ang mga kaibigan niya bago halos sabay-sabay na napabuntong-hininga.

"She's fine..." Rasmus answered, brows linking as he gave him an assessing look. "Are you really sure she cheated on you, bud? She's been here for over two weeks now but not once did that woman act like a tramp."

Rival glared at him. "Siguraduhin mo lang, Pyr, na tama ang sinabi mo. We're gonna beat you if you are wrong. You know how rude we were to her when she arrived. We didn't even say hi to her because we don't like her and that's because of you."

"And we haven't formally introduced yet," murmured Gryf while opening a few buttons of his dark chef uniform from his fast-food restaurant McJolli.

"And that's for sure the reason why she did not eat the food at the welcome party and why she bought her groceries despite knowin' that the kitchen is full," naiiling na dagdag ni Hiru.

"That's what I believe based on how things turned out five years ago. From CCTV records and her leaving and not coming back to our apartment is the proof of it," Pyrmont replied.

But there's a part of him that was itching to go look back at everything again.

There's even a feeling in him to look for that man and ask him about the past but it's the thought of Dessert and Vegas in his house that stops him.

Why should he look for that man when he already has what that asshole took away from him years ago? Baka 'pag nalaman pa ng kung sino mang gagong iyon na nasa sa kanya na ulit si Dessert ay manggulo pa ito. This time, Pyrmont was not sure if he'd let that man breathe again.

"How about I look into those videos? Let me analyze every angle of it. It could be edited," Vsql offered.

"Maybe you should," Xenux agreed. "Kreston could be right. Something is not adding up. Dessert doesn't look like a woman that is wild or would hook into a different relationship. Come on, Pyr. Can't you see it? She doesn't display the character of that woman who is a flirt. She's decent."

Pyrmont sighed. "How could we analyze the video when I already burned the copies I have?"

"I can go into that apartment's CCTV records and look for it. But it would be tough and the possibility of getting new copies is very low. It's been five years," Ql informed.

"I can forget about the past and just focus on what I have now," Pyrmont murmured.

Gryf tsked, scoffing. "What do you have now, Pyr? Bud, you can focus on your son but you have to know that your child wants a family. Not this family you have now. You are not a family. You are far from it."

"Seeing that she's not like how we thought she would be, Pyr, maybe you should try to fix your relationship with her," Vsql advised. "You still love her anyway."

Mahinang tumango si Pyrmont saka walang salating tumayo at umakyat ng hagdan para tingnan si Vegas sa silid nito. Madalas ay nasa silid lang nito si Vegas at naglalaro. Mahigit dalawang linggo na ang mag-ina niyang nakatira sa bahay niya.
