Prologue

"YOU SURE you don't want dessert?"

Kumuyom ang kamay ni Pyrmont dahil sa tanong ni Vsql.

This idiot!

Who told him I want dessert?

He didn't mention dessert nor did he ask about dessert!

Really, he shouldn't have come with them here in Hartz Bakery, owned by his friend Rasmus. They'd just end up arguing again about dessert.

"Bud, try this one." Inilapag ni Hiru ang isang platito na may lamang pagkain. "It's mochi, a rice cake. It's famous in Japan. It's a good dessert, delicious!"

Pyrmont's jaw ticked. Of course, dessert is delicious! He tasted one, years ago— Damn it!

He cussed when his mind went to think of another dessert than what his friends were talking about or offering.

"I don't want dessert—"

Gryf tsked, stopping him. "Why the heck you don't want dessert? Come on, it's been ages since you tasted dessert—"

"Why the fuck are you pushing me this fucking dessert?!" Pyrmont snapped. He was losing it when Gryf said it's been ages since he tasted dessert.

Rasmus glared at him, then took the plate with the mochi. "Tang'na mo. Kung ayaw mo, 'di' 'wag! Sipain kita palabas ng bakeshop ko!"

Rival hooted into laughter. "P're, malala ka na. Ang laki ng problema mo sa dessert, 'di ka naman inaano."

Hiru groaned. "Huwag kayo puro Tagalog. I don't fuckin' understand all," reklamo nito.

"That is the point here, Hiru. Ang hindi mo lahat maintindihan basta tawa ka lang 'pag tumawa kami." Xenux butted in, earning a laugh from the rest who were at the table, aside from him and Hiru. They were seven in there.

Hiru creased his brows, looking like he's trying his best to understand Xenux but then after a second, he sighed and didn't say a thing and just ate.

Gryf handed him an ice cream. "Here, that's also a dessert— Really, but let's call that ice cream so you'll get your shit down."

Pyrmont took it and murmured his thanks. This ice cream was better than any other cake that's visibly an example of desserts.

Fucking dessert. Mura niya sa isipan. Ang hirap kalimutan kung araw-araw laging may nagpapaalala sa kanya. Tang'na talaga.

"Where are you gonna head after here, Pyr?" Vsql asked.

Pyrmont sighed. "I'm going to visit my brother's girlfriend at the hospital before I go home."

Nasa hospital ngayon ang girlfriend ng kapatid niyang si Kronack dahil sa sinaktan ito ng gagong walang matinong turnilyo sa utak.

Damn that man. Not only did he harm Kalisz, but he also almost took his first-ever niece or nephew. Unang baby ng Crown tapos muntikan pang mawala sa kanila. Nakakagalit talaga ang ginawa ng gagong iyon.

"Okay then, I and Hiru will make groceries after here," ani Rival. "Hand over your money for groceries," utos nito.

They all did.

Pyrmont took two thousand from his wallet and placed it on the table. His other friends gave the same amount.

"We'll keep the change," ani Hiru na nakangisi.

Sinamaan agad ito ng tingin ni Rasmus. "Gago, bayaran mo ang bills." Kinuha nito mula sa wallet nito ang dalawang bills. "Tubig at kuryente 'yan."

"Fucking idiot, are you kidding?" Rival frowned in irritation. "You sure this money is enough to even pay one bill?"
