Rebel has hated her father since age 11. Her dad doesn't know, for she hasn't had the courage to tell him.

Laura's POV
...
After a half Italian lunch (Pizza, peaches, oranges, and a Brownie), I began to walk to gym for free period. I looked ahead and saw Danyka talking with Tut Tut Child. They need to be a thing. I tap Danyka as I walk by, giggling. "What?" She asks. "Yeah." I scoff "'Just friends'" Danyka rolls her eyes. "I know your secrete!" She sang. "I know yours!" I sang back. She said goodbye to Tut Tut Child. "I never told you anything!" She says, catching up with me as I turn into the gym. "You say it with your body language. He likes you too, you know." I wink. "He does?!" She exclaims. I laugh. "See? Obvious!" "Ughhhh. Fine, I kinda like him." She admits. "Ha! Define 'kinda'." "Well I-" She gets cutoff by Principal Monstercat's voice coming on the intercom. "All students participating in 'the plan' please report to the office and get in your positions. Now." We look at each other worriedly and run up to the office.
...
"Where the hell is she?" I murmur, my anxiety growing. Suddenly, I hear two sets of footsteps thrumming behind me. I whip my head around to see Rebel sprinting up to the door, Noisestorm following close behind. "Where is he?" She growled. She wasn't even out of breath. Adrenaline must be fueling her. "He hasn't pulled up yet. The cameras down the street saw his car." Rebel faultered then feel to her knees, crying. Noisestorm kneels down and wraps her in a hug. I walk over to her. "It's gonna be ok." I soothe. "I-I'm scared Laura." She chokes out between sobs. Tristam peeks through the door, comprehending what was in front of him, then he ran over. "What happened?" He asked. His voice was taut with fear. "I think she's having an emotional breakdown." Noisestorm answers. He looked at Rebel, looking simpathetic. Tristam helps Rebel up and hugs her. "It's ok." He murmurs softly. His voice was so calming. Rebel gathered herself and drew in a shaky breath. "Haven't had one of those in a while." She murmurs jokingly. "You can go back up to your dorm if you want. We'll take care of this douche-bag." Noisestorm offered. "N-no. I need to do this." She growled. That look in her eye turned up again. "I'm going to go and get in position." Tristam said. Turning to Rebel he said, "Are you sure you're ok?" "Fine." She murmured. I put my arm around her. "It'll be ok."

Rebel's POV
"It'll be ok." Her words echoed in my head. I tried to repeat them, still recovering from my breakdown. 'It'll be ok. It'll be ok. It'll be ok...' My fists clinch as I hear a car roaring. I grit my teeth. 'Your chance is coming. Be patient.' I thought to myself. I needed to get this off my chest. I see his car pull up. "Huh. So nothing has changed." I mutter. He still has the same purple Saturn, like when I was 10. Everyone was laying low, except for me. I stayed resolute. My father stepped out of his car and smiled at me. "You ready?" He asked, as happy as can be. I inhaled. "No." I growl through gritted teeth. "Oh, well go ahead and say your goodbyes and things." "No. I'm not going." "Well-" I cut him off, pure rage burning in my stomach. "You don't get it do you? I don't WANT to go with you. I never did." I was even surprised at how mean I sounded. I could only imagine how my peers felt. "Wha-" "DON'T ACT LIKE YOU DON'T KNOW!" I yell, standing up from leaning on the doorway. "Excuse me?" He scolds, raising an eyebrow. I calm myself before continuing. "Don't act like you don't know what you've done. What you've caused. I just had an emotional breakdown because of you!" "What are you saying?" He asks, his gaze hardening. That burning pit of anger in my stomach boiled again. "I'm saying that, I'm almost 19. Not your little girl. I'm beginning to think I never was." "What?!" "You never gave two shits about us. You used my mother. You used me. Do you know how much you've scarred me?" I snap, my voice raising with every word. I step forward, only inches away from his face. His breath still reeked of smoke. "I'm. Staying. It's final." I growl. "I am your father and you will do what I say, Madison. Get. In the car. Now." I hated it when people used my real name. "No." I snarl. "I'm not going to let her go." A voice behind me snaps. I whip around. It was Tristam. "Me neither." Laura drops her bucket and runs over to me. A chorus of protest broke out and, pretty soon, almost the whole school was standing behind me. "You never had my back like these people do. You never devoted yourself. You left. Just like you're going to leave now." I continue. My confidence was growing. "You know why I never talked to you? Because the one who raised me right told me to stay away from bad people. Do you remember every Saturday when I was 10? Do you remember why I seemed a little less 'cheery' when you picked me up for breakfast? Because I had to ACT!" I yell. "I had to put on a face and pretend I was having fun." I spat. "This is your last chance, Madison." I winced when he said my name. "Get in the car." "No. This is your last chance. Leave. And never come back." He glares at us one last time, then hesitantly gets in his car. "Oh, and one last thing." I yell through the rolled down window. His face brightens and he looks hopeful. I smirk. "My name is Rebel."
