Rebel's POV
...
I opened the door to the dining hall, which was ablaze with all different types of voices. I looked around and spotted Danyka, Tut Tut Child, Laura, and Josh. I walked over to the table, snuck up behind Laura while she was talking, and motioned for everyone to be quiet. I leaned down so close to her ear that I swear that she could feel me breathing on her neck. I stifled a laugh. "Hi." I said. Laura yelped and almost fell out of her chair. Everyone laughed. "DAMNIT REBEL!" She yelled. "What? I was just saying hi to my dear friend!" I half laugh. "It's not my fault that you scare easily." Laura rolls her eyes, smiling and I giggle and sit down. "Hey, I hear we're getting a new student soon." Tut Tut Child says enthusiastically. "They might be bringing glitch-hop back!" Danyka adds. "Yeah, we haven't had glitch-hop since Falcon Funk's last song, right?" I ask. I was starting to miss the funkyness of the genre. "Yep. Something like that." I suddenly feel someone pulling down my hood. No doubt it was Tristam. I turn around. Yep. "Y'know, you should let your hair show more. It's pretty." He smiles. I throw my hood back on. "Nah." I say blushing. "I SHIP IT!" Josh yells. I make a heart with my hands around him and Laura. They both blush. "Ship it like FedEx." I smile. "Shut up.." They both mutter. My smile grew. Principal Monstercat stepped on stage and the talking died down. "First off, I would like to congradulate Rebel; her second Future Bass track has recently reached one million views and has climbed to number three on the Beatport charts." The cafeteria erupted in applause, whistles, whoops, and hollers. I was surprised to hear this; the track has only been out for a month. My table patted me on the back and nudged me, saying congrats, while I blushed and looked at the floor. "Also," He continued, "I am pleased to announce that we are getting a new student tomorrow. Her genres will be glitch-hop, house and chillout." He smiles. I look at Laura. She had the same look in her eye. I sigh. She was probably going to be staying in our dorm, since there are 3 to a dorm. Laura and I got lucky. "Dangit." I mutter as I step in the lunch line. Tristam nudges me. "Whaaat? Are you not excited for the new student?" "No, I'm excited! I love getting new students, it's just, I'm gonna miss having just one roommate." Tristam laughs. "She's probably not going to be that bad. Anyway, you're lucky," He says,  grabbing us some peaches. "I have to share a room with Braken and Noisestorm." "Okay," I half laugh. "I feel bad for you about Noisestorm, but, Braken? He so quiet and sweet!" I exclaim. "Ha! When other people are around!" We paused to thank the lunch lady. "I don't believe it!" "Yep. Tut Tut Child by day, you by night." "Shut up!" I laugh as we sit down next to Braken and Josh. "What were you two laughing about?" Braken asks with a smile, looking up from a book. "How you are quiet by day and a freakin' maniac by night!" Tristam answers. Braken blushes. "I-I'm not that bad, am I?"
....
After lunch was our free-period. I walked to the music room where my drum is, Puppet and I were going to have a drum session. I rounded the corner and turned left into the music room, twirling my light-up drumsticks. I peek in the room. "Looks like I beat him here." I murmur to no one in particular. My gaze drifts across the room and lands on my drum. I smile and pad over to it. "It's been a while, huh?" I say whistfully. I sit on the throne (the little stool, yes I am learning drums xD) and position myself. I start off with a snare-roll and instantly get goosebumps. I shiver, reposition myself, and get in the groove. I'm a bit rusty at first, but soon enough, I'm back to normal and as musical as ever. I look down at my drumsticks, which were a multicolored blur, and my smile grows. I finish up the beat and look up. Tut Tut Child was leaning up against the doorway. I exhale. "You're pretty good." He says. "Thanks." I chuckle. "H-how long were you standing there?" "Long enough. I-I was actually wanting to, uh.. learn." I brighten up at the thought. "I could teach you if you want!" I say, a bit to excitedly. I mentally face-palm. "Maybe tomorrow. I think I'll just sit and watch today." He says smiling. "Thanks." He takes a seat and, at the same time, Puppet jogs in. "You're like, five minutes late. The hell took ya so long?" I tease. "Had to make up a test." He glances at Child and then at me, raising an eyebrow. "He's observing. He wants to learn." Nick (Tut Tut Child) turns red. "Oh, alright! Glad to have another drummer." He says, smiling at him. "Bet you can't play Soldiers by Nitro Fun!" Puppet challenges, moving his blonde hair and adjusting his glasses. "You're on!" Just as I was about to start, Noisestorm ran in, panting. "He.. He's here. Y-your father!" He stutters. "Shit!" I snap, dropping my drumsticks and running out the door.
