(Rebel'sPOV)
After talking with Braken, I decided to go and play some basketball with the boys. I open the gym door and watch Rezonate slam dunk on Puppet. I chuckle and pull out my phone.

'Playing basketball in the gym. I'll be a while'

I inform Laura. I walk over to the bleachers and climb (vertically, since only the bottom row was out.) to the top. Around five minutes later, Alex from the Nerds finally noticed me. "Hey Rebel!" He called. "Hey! Y'all got room for one more?" I ask. My southern accent was showing through a little. "You know how to play?" Rezonate asks doubtfully. I jump off the top of the bleachers and grab the ball from him. I dribble out to the half-court mark and shoot. Nothing but net. I smile and turn toward Rezonate. "Your move." I smirk. "You'll be with Puppet and I." "Hey, what about us?" Mike calls. "Oh, right. I'll sit this one out then." He says, throwing me the ball and sitting down on the bleachers. I threw the ball to Puppet as he yelled, "LEZZZGOOO!" and ran towards a goal. His blonde hair flopped down in front of his bright blue eyes, blocking his view and making him slam into the wall. Alex and Mike doubled over and leaned on each other, laughing hysterically. I helped Puppet up, still laughing. He rubbed his head and the beginnings of a smile started to appear on his face. "Let's just.. get on with the game." He mumbled.
...
"I'm open!" I shout to Puppet. He was surrounded by Mike and Alex. He threw the ball. I catch it and dribble to Mike and Alex's goal, planing to dunk the ball. I jumped and made the slam, a smile on my face. I feel myself drop down from my Flight, but when I land, I feel a searing pain develop in my left ankle and shoot up my leg. I look at my ankle, only then realizing I was on the floor, fearing the worst. My ankle was twisted horribly and practically numb. Until I moved it. I cried out in pain and Puppet ran up and knelt down next to me. "Oh my god. Rebel are you ok?" "Not really." I manage through gritted teeth. "Damn it. Guys!!" Everyone ran up to me.
"Oh my god."
"Holy shit.."
"How did..."
"D-Don't ask." I growl squeezing my eyes shut and fighting back tears. "What do we do?" Rezonate asks, voice high pitched with worry. I dreaded this. We had to set my ankle. "W-We have to set it." "Um... what?" Mike says. "We have to straighten it. So the bone will grow straight." "We? What do you mean we?" "Oh man up!" Puppet snapped. "Maybe it's just sprained really bad." Rezonate murmured. "Nope. It's broken." "Does it hurt when I touch it?" Rezonate reached out and lightly brushed my ankle. That was enough to make me wince and pull back. "Yeah, it's broken." "No shit, Sherlock." Alex growled.
.....
Once we set my ankle, Puppet and Alex walked, more like dragged, me over to the nurse's ward. "On a scale of one to ten, how bad did setting your ankle hurt?" Puppet asks as we limp along. I laugh. "Somewhere around 100." "Damn.." He murmured. "I've broken my arm before, but never my ankle." Alex says, moving his blonde hair out of his face. "Yeah," I scoff. "I don't think I'd wish that on my worst enemy." We laugh. "Man.. you broke your ankle right before your birthday." "Oh yeah..." I had completely forgotten about my birthday. It was tomorrow, a Saturday, my favorite day of the week. "Well, with my luck that was bound to happen." Alex laughs. "Do you remember when you face-planted in gym?" He asks, starting to laugh harder. "Do you remember when you tied yourself to the chair?" I shoot back, starting to laugh. Puppet laughs. "Rootkit... I'm stuck!" He mocks. We stop at the nurses ward and knock, even though the door was cracked. "Come in." The nurse says sweetly. Alex opens the door and Puppet and I limp in. The nurse looks up from her book as Puppet sets my down on the nearest cot. "What happened?" "We were playing basketball. I jumped up and dunked the ball and landed wrong on my ankle." I say, helplessly lifting my sports-wrapped ankle. She unwraps my ankle and inspects it, lightly pressing on it and making me wince every once and a while. "Yes, it's definatly broken. If not, fractured. You'll have to wear a cast for six to twelve weeks, depending on how you treat your ankle of course. Then you'll have to wear an ankle brace for three weeks." She informed me. 'Man...' I thought. 'This is the worst luck I've had in months'.
