Chapter Eighteen
[ Your POV ]
"What the hell..." I poked at the scar on the left side of my chest. It stung, although a scar.
It felt fresh, but indeed it was not.
I looked at the time. 12 fucking PM. I checked myself in the mirror. Bags under my eyes, my hair so untamed it practically looked like a lion's mane.. Shit. I looked like shit. I didn't want to go out, outside the house or the bedroom.
"(Y/n)~! I made you breakf- BRUNCH!" I heard Ina call after me. As if on cue, my stomach growled low.
I sighed in defeat, brushing my teeth and trying to brush my hair. When I finished, Ina was on the island counter thing, eating pancakes and texting in her phone.
I mumbled a good morning to her, and she replied more ecstatically.
I plopped 3 pancakes on my plate, and 2 pieces of toast.
Vincent loves toast.
I grab the maple syrup and put a huge dose of it.
"WOAH THERE!" Ina giggled, as I smiled back at her.
I didn't remember much of her, but I was glad to be with my best friend.
"What're the plans for today?" I said, taking a bite of the savoury pancakes.
"Maybe the mall? Or, the movies...maybe...Humhh..." Ina pondered for a bit, then soon looked at me.
"A movie then the mall seems like a good idea." I took another bite of the pancake.
"Then it's decided!" Ina beams at me and goes upstairs to get ready.
~
"That was fabulous!" Ina exhaled as she walked through the door.
"The movie wasn't that great. . ." I mumbled, truthfully.
"Oh yes it was~! Did you see when she took down that hovercraft with her arrows?!"
"It doesn't seem realistic..." I shrugged.
She huffed, "Maybe you should read the books, (Y/n)! And the HG series is supposed to be fiction ANYWAYS."
"Whatever...I'll watch the movies."
"Arrgghh! You just don't get it! Books are better!"
"Okay..."
"Don't "okay..." Me! When we went to Chapters, I saw the "B.L. mangos" you bought."
I look at her, faking to be offended, although I was, a little. "Ina, they are called manga, not mango. And Yaoi/BL is possibly the best genre EVER!!" I beamed at her, but she shrugs me off.
"Kay... I'mma try my new clothes on."
I nod towards her and I go to walk to my room myself.
~
"Hey, hey Ina?" I call out to her.
She yells to me asking, "What?!"
I look at her. As always, she looked stunning. Her short hair ruffled like an emo kid (a.n.: no offence intended), a beige ruffled tank top, and jean shorts. I smile at her..
"I'm gonna head out for a little bit." She shrugs at me and continues to eat her tub of ice cream.
No, I haven't told her that Vincent was in jail, she would keep asking me questions.
~
"Ahm, I'm here to see a Mr. Vincent Cawthon?" I played with the end of her shirt behind my back and patiently waited for an answer from the prison guard.
"Huhm. Cawthon's been getting quite a few visitors lately."
I raise an eyebrow. "Really? Who?"
"A young homosexual men couple, you...and another girl..."
I then eyed him suspiciously. Vincent didn't mention any girls as friends.
"Can you describe her for me, sir?" I said in a dead-serious tone.
"Oh," then he looked at me. "I'm pretty sure I can't share that information with you, ma'am."
I gripped tighter on the hem of my shirt. I dug my nails into it, marking my palms as well. "Bring me to Vincent, sir."
~
"(Y/n)!" Vincent said, as a guard walked behind him. I glared at Vincent, and sat down.
"Hello dear," I mumbled.
"Whoa. Since when did you become so catty?" He teased.
"I'm not in the mood, Vincent. Can we just get this over with?"
With hurt in his eyes, I instantly felt guilty for saying that. "Get over with what?" He fake-laughed, eyebrows tilted to form a sad expression. "Y-You came to visit me..."
"Who's the other girl that visited you?" I suddenly blurted out. Vincent looked at me in surprise.
"Girl...?"
"D-don't play stupid with me, Vincent! Who- Who- Who was she?!"
Vincent closed his eyes as if to think, then said, "Trust me, I'm not cheating on you, love."
"Then tell me who it was!" I screamed, guards and other prisoners with their visitors staring at me.
"It was my sister, Violet," He irritatedly replied. I blushed in embarrassment. "Okay? Happy now? She's my...eugh...twin sister."
I sat there in surprise. "Oh."
"Oh is right." Vincent eyed me, mumbling into his hands.
"I- I'm sorry Vincent..."
"Whatever. How's Ina n' you been doing?"
I didn't respond, I continued to think. I didn't want to become those clingy girlfriends...or the ones that assume everything. It's a phase, right? It should be a phase. "Y-yeah, yeah, great..."
It was hard conversing with Vincent, especially after my little outburst. Most of the time, he'd stare at me and smile sheepishly when I catch him.
"Can you please stop worrying and spacing out, (Y/n)? It's no big deal. I don't hate you, if that's what you're thinking." Vincent placed a hand on mine. I looked at him and blushed.
"So. . . When can I meet your sister?"
Vincent looked shocked, then furiously shook his head. "No no no! Never! I- I dunno! Maybe? No- never!" Vincent kept thinking and changing his mind, his confused face looked quite adorable.
I only stared and smiled. "J-just no. You can't see her."
[ Third Person POV ]
"And why ever not?" You tapped your chin playfully, slightly amused at his frazzled stage.
"She's...she's...I'm not exactly speaking with her at the moment. When she came to visit, I didn't bother looking at her while she rambled on at how disappointed she was."
"Ah..." You nod your head silently.
Swiftly, you cupped your hand to his ear and whispered, "Can you come over tonight?"
He blushed a vibrant red, and shrugged, "I- I don't know (Y/n)..."
You suddenly got frustrated and began to whine. "But Vinceyy~! I- I'm..."
You needn't to say anymore. Vincent grinned at you and you flushed.
"Maybe."
