Chapter Thirty-Three

[ vincent's pov ]

She looked at me in disbelief. Of course she would, I mean she's lost her memory once, now she'll be deali...

"What are you talking about? I've never lost my memory," she snorted.

I then looked at her, shocked and in horror.

She's starting to forget...

She's starting to forget...already?

I stood up from my chair and shook my head. For a Vincent x Reader novel, this is shit! (Yes yes I broke the fourth wall)

I walked over to (Y/n)'s bed, towering over her. I grabbed her shoulders and leaned in close to her ear.

"Please..." I choked, not caring if Ina and Caleb were in the room. "Please don't leave me again.."

I heard a door shut and the two were gone. It was my time to be soft again. Tears flowed down my cheeks, I whimpered, placing my head in the crook of her neck. "Don't leave me again..."

"Leave you again? Why would I do that, let alone again?" She chuckled, stroking the back of my neck.

The touch of her fingertips brushing against the nape of my neck killed me. I wanted to cry more. I didn't want to lose the one I love.

I didn't want to lose (Y/n).

I fell asleep on the hospital bed beside her. I was awake, squinting my eyes and for a moment I thought everything was okay.

I opened them wide. White walls, white bedsheets, white floor and the infamous smell of bleach.

(Y/n) stirred in her sleep, making tiny cat noises every so often. I sighed, placing my hand in her hair and stroking her (h/c) locks.

"Nnnye.." She purred. I smiled, but then frowned as I may lose this.

That I may lose us.

Frustration built up inside me, my free hand sliding the fingers through my hair. I groaned softly, forcing myself not to shed a tear.

Maybe she'll remember you, Vincent! I thought to myself.

Key word: maybe.

Gee thanks, brain.

"Nngg..no.. . ." A soft negative whisper said. I looked down and (y/n) was...

She was crying.

Before I could do a thing, she had moved herself closer to me, burying her face into my chest.

"Mmff...I luff youuaa.." Her muffled voice trembled against me. ".. Vince..."

Various sentences were muffled into my chest, and each one hit me hard. Was she...having a nightmare again?

I hoped for the latter.

"You were never good enough," she shrugs, flicking my forehead. I staggered back, in shock.

"M-mom?" I stuttered, touching the area where she had hurt me.

She gives me an agonizing glance, as if it was painful to look at me. "If only you were your sister..."
