Chapter 4

"Morning y/n, Mr. Stark has requested for you to wake up and meet him in the meeting room in an hour" FRIDAY stated as the curtains opened to reveal a bright blue sky and a blazing sun shining in my face.

"What time is it?" I asked in a groggy voice
"9:30"
"Is it urgent?"
"He says it probably can't wait"
"Say I'll be down in a bit"
"As you wish"

I dragged myself out of my bed and across my room to have a shower, something I desperately needed. After my shower, I got back into my clothes from yesterday (black jeans, black top, grey hoodie) and tied my hair into a high pony. I'm not really comfortable with using my powers when it isn't necessary, it reminds me of bad things, so I chose not to make a new outfit.

I walked out of my room 50 mins after being rudely awoken. I took the lift to the 50th floor, bumping into Natasha and Wanda on the way.

"Hey, where you heading to?" Natasha asked

"Hi miss Romanoff, Mr. Stark wants to see me, apparently it can't wait till later in the day." I answered

"You can call me Nat, everyone here is on a first name basis, you dont have to be formal around us" she laughed

"Yeah, I'm wanda by the way." Wanda said grinning at me.

"I know, you two were like my heroes growing up, your stories took my mind off things, it really helped. I'm a big fan" I admitted

"Aww thanks. Anyway, what are you doing tomorrow? Cause we were thinking that, as you dont have any of your own clothes, we could take you shopping! As an Avenger, you get a Stark card which allows you to spend money on things you want. And, I think it will be really fun for us girls to go out together!" Wanda squealed, obviously excited that there was another girl on the team.

"I have no plans yet so I'd love to, plus, we can get to know eachother more," I suggested

"Sounds great, see you then!" Nat said as the doors opened onto my floor.

I walked across the corridor to the conference room to see Tony waiting for me.

"Great! Y/n, will you accompany me to the lobby so I can introduce you to another Avenger? He's about the same age as you and he said hes really exited to meet our newest recruit." He smiled

"Of course, lead the way." We get into the lift and tony hits the ground floor button.

"Oh right," Tony said, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a small card, "here's your Stark card, it provides you with lots of money that you can spend on yourself."

"Thank you so much! You know, it's been so long since someone has treated me like this, and everyone here seems so kind and welcoming, I couldnt be more grateful!"

"You've been through some tough shit kid, and so have most of the team here. Everyone understands everyone else's problems and that's why we feel like such a family. You are very welcome here and everyone is bound to love you," he explained. The elevator doors opened again and we stepped out into the lobby.

"Peter, meet the newest Avenger..." Tony announced to someone behind me.

I turned around and saw the face of someone I was least expecting to see...
"Peter...?"
