It was half an hour later and I was in the elevator up to the roof. My foot was tapping with anticipation and I couldn't help the smile on my face.
The elevator doors slowly and I stepped out onto the roof, the cold nipping at my skin. I stopped dead in my tracks, mesmerised by what lay before me. It was beautiful; a blanket with cushions and pillows covering it lay across the floor. Fairy lights hung above me, illuminating the scene. And in the centre of it all, Peter and his perfect eyes, his perfect hair, his perfect face. He smiled when he saw me and I made my way over to him. We sat down and I rested my head on his shoulder.
"S...so, I wanted to t...tell you-" He started but I wasn't listening, I felt a sudden surge of emotion pass through me. I wasn't thinking. It was like my body wasn't listening to my mind. I turned to him and pulled him closer. Everything was moving in slow motion. Suddenly, I felt my lips touch his. They were so soft. He seemed surprised but soon melting into the kiss, his lips moving in sync with mine. The world stopped, like I was floating in space.
We broke away, I smiled nervously at him.
"Ummm... you litrally just said everything I wanted to say, and you didn't even use any words" He chuckled
"Let me hear it, I'm sorry, carry on"
"Oh, ok, y/n Laufeyson, you're the most kind, brave, powerful girl I have ever known. You have been through so much but you still have the strength to wear a smile on your face no matter what. And that why I..." He paused, like he was wondering whether to say whatever it was or not. I looked into his eyes, begging him to continue, "...that's why I love you..."
I gasped, taken aback from what he had just said. I never anticipated those three words coming from his mouth. Did I love him back? Did I even deserve this? He's done so much for me and I have never thanked him, never given anything back. My eyes drifted out across the city, admiring its beauty as my mind raced. I definitely had feelings for him, I have always had feelings for him.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't-" He trembled
"I love you too" I interrupted, the words just slipped out but as soon as they did, it felt like a huge weight had been lifted from my heart.
I loved Peter Parker, and he was the best thing that ever happened to me...
