Screams echoed off the walls of the lab. My own screams. My thought was raw and my head was pounding. My body ached from trying to break free from the straps around my wrists and ankles. Tears streamed down my red cheeks and beads of sweat trickled down down my face. A loud, harsh cackle boomed over the top of my yells.
A heart wrenching pain coursed down my spine. It felt live my whole body was being split in two. Was this the end...?

I woke up, shaking, panting, crying. The terrors of my past still haunted me like ghosts. I couldn't bear it. I sobbed into my pillow. Why did it have to be me?
My door opened and Peter rushed in. "Oh my god, y/n! Are you ok? What happened? Hey, shhh, shhh, it's ok, it's ok" he comforted me.
"I'm fine, it...it was just a nightmare" I trembled whilst wiping my tears.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
I slowly nodded, maybe talking would help take some of the pain away. I explained what I had seen, how I had felt and Peter nodded along, comforting me as I let it all out.
"I am so sorry, I know it was so hard for you. But you're safe now." He assured, "I'm gonna go back to bed, tell me if you need anything" he walked towards the door.
"Wait!" He turned around to looked back at me again. "Could you stay?"
He nodded and walked back over towards the bed. He got in and I reated my head on his arm. He played with my hair as I drifted off into a calm sleep.
