Is it possible for a scent to stimulate a feeling?
Yes. Human beings have what is known as olfactory memory, which means that certain smells trigger emotions or information that are stored in our brains in correspondence to that particular odor.
Just like the aroma of chocolate cake can make us feel happy again because we had it at gatherings when we were children, the same happens to Yue when she steps out of the elevator in Dylan's building.
In the hallway that leads to the front door, there is a particular scent that Yue cannot pinpoint, perhaps it's a disinfectant used to mop the floor or a deodorant that the cleaning service sprays; but the thing is, she immediately feels that anticipation, the pleasurable expectation and feeling of excitement about the events that will occur during the weekend. Her heart quickens, her stomach flutters with hundreds of butterflies and her hands turn cold.
This takes place every single time.
With the turn of the key, Dylan opens the entrance, as he always does. When they cross the threshold, Yue knows she's in his hands because that has been the deal since the beginning. And even though Dylan is sweet and loving –and has not shown her any whips so far– there is something that always makes her nervous inside. What is it? She cannot tell.
Of course, the man she loves can read her like a book. He has been able to do it since the day they met, which is both electrifying and frightening at the same time.
A few steps away from the front door, Dylan faces Yue in the middle of the open space that comprises the entryway, the kitchen, and the living room.
"Hey," he smiles and wraps his arms around her waist, "how is it that after all this time you're still uneasy about coming here? I told you we didn't need to come..." Dylan pulls her closer, rests his chin on Yue's head, and she tightens her arms around his torso.
"I'm not nervous, I'm excited," she states, her voice mellow and genuine.
You're the light, you're the night
You're the color of my blood
You're the cure, you're the pain
You're the only thing I wanna touch
Never knew that it could mean so much, so much"Really?"
"Mm-hmmm. But I absolutely, categorically, undeniably REQUIRE a shower!" Yue exclaims with a chuckle. Her laughter reverberates from her chest onto Dylan's, and he joins her amusement. "Gosh, I can't wait to wash off the freaking salt from all over my body!" she complains, disgusted.
Dylan steps back and the way he looks at her makes each soft spot in her body palpitate. This man! What is he plotting?
"I will take care of you," he reveals in a matter-of-factly tone that leaves nothing to interpretation. He will wash her body; he will do everything tonight, as he promised when they agreed to the weekend arrangement.
Yue is his queen. The only thing left for her to do is enjoy the regal treatment.
Dylan takes Yue's hand in his and leads her to the main bathroom. He sits on the edge of the huge bathtub and hauls Yue between his legs. Her cheeks are reddened –not because of the tan– and her eyes flicker with emotions.
"I love that you still blush because of me," he tells her, gazing straight into her loving eyes. Yue gifts him a small smile of bashful admission and Dylan's eyes turn dark and narrow, his voice hoarse and deep as he continues: "You know exactly what I'm gonna do, how I'm going to remove every single item that covers your gorgeous body..."
His hands begin to unbutton her white shirt.
"You know that I will admire your unclothed figure, and I will touch you everywhere, and kiss you in the most hidden parts of you..."
