It has been no more than three minutes since Dylan stepped out of that shower without a care in the world, but it feels like an excruciating hour has gone by for him and, mostly, for Yue.
"Leave her alone," Dylan commands as soon as he regains some composure. Though his heart still feels stuck in his throat, he does his best attempt not to look at Yue's belly so the man will not know he has in his hands not one but two of Dylan's most precious things in the entire world.
"I will not leave her. For your fault I have arrest warrant on my head. You must to pay!" The Russian replies in his stern voice and strong accent and aims the gun at Dylan, his other hand still muzzling Yue.
Yue stares at Dylan, her chest heaving, her nostrils and eyes big. But she has not lost her cool – Yue has trained for events like this. She knows how she should react, and she tries to convey the message to her husband. Even if for the past 2 months she hasn't been working as an agent, she hasn't forgotten her training. Moreover, she and Dylan faced some pretty dangerous situations while working undercover together, and they practiced how to handle something like this. They also rehearsed what to do if one of them was taken hostage.
Yue widens her eyes and, as slow as possible, blinks twice to signal Dylan what her next movement will be. Of course, Dylan has kept his gaze cemented on her and detects her signal. In response, after having assessed the situation, he is supposed to give her a cue.
"DON'T hurt her, please," he emphasizes the don't and Yue realizes he doesn't want to put her and the baby at risk but dragging this situation will not lead to a positive outcome anyway. The sooner this ends, the better.
Again, she gives him the signal, two slow blinks. Dylan huffs frustrated because he comprehends there's no other way out of this.
"Alright," he pretends to speak to the man, but that's the response Yue was hoping for, "what do you want?"
"I want you to pay for..." The Russian cannot finish his sentence when he feels a sharp pang on his fingers. "AAHH! You bite me!" he screams.
From there on, everything seems to happen incredibly fast and yet in slow motion, as if they were in a scene from The Matrix.
Yue balances her feet to give her body stability and bends her torso forward to grant herself some space to operate –typical self-defense movement–. She slings her elbows back repeatedly to knock the air out of the aggressor and turns around to smack his chin upwards with all her might. The man bounces back, stunned, but now the gun is pointing at Dylan's crotch in the mayhem.
As soon as Yue has freed herself, Dylan throws himself at The Russian and Yue snatches his arm in an attempt to steal the gun.
BANG!
"DIDI!" Yue shouts panicked when she sees the direction of the bullet.
Thankfully, the shot travels between Dylan's open legs, blowing a hole through and through his towel, merely centimeters away from his manhood.
Yet, there's no time to mull over what might have been. Dylan pounces on the man like a charging bull, and The Russian lands on the floor, ultimately releasing the gun above his head.
"You almost hit me!" Dylan yells as he punches him on the face.
Yue gets a hold of the gun and screams to Dylan to let go of the guy because she now has the upper hand. However, Dylan is too absorbed, repetitively pummeling the person who almost ruined his chance of having more children.
The Russian, who is not a small dude, on the contrary, does his best to defend himself, but he had no idea Dylan was a mixed martial arts black belt expert. His blows are well-aimed and purposeful. They inflict the most pain and harm with the use of focus and coordination, no matter the size of the opponent.
