i open the bathroom door and see vinnie, and some random girl giving him head, he sees me and start to put up his pants, i shut the door and walk out of the building back to the car.
i can feel my eyes start to water.
"kyra" i hear vinnies voice yelling behind me. "kyra please" he yells. i open the car door and sit inside.
i see vinnie rush to the other side and sit down. he looks at me and we sit there in silence. "let me explain" vinnie says, "what is there to explain, you let some girl give you head, while i was over there dancing, rejecting every guy who asked for a dance or for my number" i yell.
vinnie turns on the car and pulls out of the parking lot i assume he's going back to the motel. we sit in silence for a while.
"kyra" he looks over at me. "vinnie i told you there's nothing to explain you made a stupid decision" i say.
"kyra just fuckign listen" he jerks the car. i look over at him. he hasn't taken his meds in a couple of days i look at the speedometer and see he's going 90.
i just stay calm he won't listen to me right now, he might wreck the car.
"okay okay just explain yourself" i say calmly. "no remember there's nothing to explain" he says, stepping on the gas even more.
a couple of minutes go by, be swerves a little, "vinnie just slow down" i yell, as tears start streaming down my face.
he keeps going faster. i sit there still trying to stay calm. all of a sudden i see red and blue lights in the rear view mirror.
vinnie slows down and pulls over. "fuck fuck fuck" vinnie yells hitting the wheel. "stay calm" he tells me. when he's the one acting out.
he rolls down his window as the officer walks over with a flash light. "you were going over the speed limit by 50 miles" he tells vinnie.
"are you under the influence?" he questions and looks at me as well. "ma'am are you okay?" he also asks me, "yeah i'm fine" i respond.
i stay calm i don't care about the ticket what if he recognizes us.
"okay i'll be back to write you up a ticket" the officer says. he walks back and vinnie just sits there calmly.
i sit there and think as we wait, "did you realize he didn't ask for your license or anything" i tell vinnie.
vinnie just stays there not saying anything. all of a sudden i see another officer pull up. they both start walking to the car.
one walks to my side and the other to vinnies. they open both doors. "y'all are under arrest" they tell us, step out of the vehicle with your hands behind your back.
the officer puts hand cuffs on me. "i noticed y'all are the ones who escaped the prison from south carolina" the first officer says.
i see vinnie fighting to get out of handcuffs saying they have the wrong people. after that is a blur for me.
my mind fills with thoughts about what is going to happen.
before i get into the officers car i look over at vinnie one last time "i'm sorry" he says before i get into the back of the car.
the officer gets into the front and drives away. saying things to other officers through the speaker thing.
"where are you taking me?" i ask. "taking you to the station they're gonna leave you in a jail cell overnight before driving you back to south carolina.
i wonder if vinnies doing the same or if we'll see each other, maybe i shouldve just listened to him he was also drunk, what if i never see him again and that was the last time ever.
i try not to worry too much, and to just stay calm through it all.
we get to the station and the officer takes me out. he walks me inside and tells the front something. i don't pay attention i just keep staring at the door hoping i'll see vinnie come through but i never do.
he walks me to a jail cell.
"you'll stay here over night there's a toilet and a bed it's enough for the night hope you ate already" the officer says before locking the cell and walking away.
a couple of minutes later i see an officer come and sit to watch the cell. i just lay down and sleep as she does whatever she's doing outside the cell.

an officer bangs on my door waking me up. i raise my hand up to my face squinting, "let's go we're taking you back to south carolina"
it then all comes back about what happened last night.
i get up and walk to the officer he puts handcuffs on me and walks me to the front. "i'm taking her back right now" he tells another officer. he then continues walking me out.
we walk to a police car and he tells me to get in. i sit inside the car. i watch him walk around to the other side of the car and get in.
he puts his seatbelt on and starts the car. "we're in for a long ride" he says before reversing and pulling out of the parking lot.
"so i wanna know what was going through your mind when you escaped?" the officer asks. "i don't know why are we talking about this of all things" i respond back.
all i can think of is vinnie. i wonder if he's going back, or if we'll ever see each other again. i just miss him.
"i bet your wondering right now where vincent is, that guy you escaped with" the officer says. i look up so fast, "why do you think that" i ask.
"i don't know maybe because y'all are two teens in love who will never actually get the happy ending they wanted" he laughs a bit.
what if i really never do see vinnie again. what if this is it. maybe he's someone in life who's there for part of it and not all of it.
"where is he" i ask ignoring everything else he just said. "so you really are curious about him" he says. i don't say anything. "he's also going back to south carolina, but just know you aren't going to be cell buddies anymore they've learned to keep girls with girls and guys with guys" he says.
i roll my eyes. he really is enjoying this. i decide to sleep the rest of the way, before he pisses me off even more.
